Hey I remember last year there was some talk about selling the naming rights to Arrowhead. Has there been anything more said on this since then? I notice nothing has changed yet, but wonder if that is only becuase they are not done with the renovations?

Inquiring minds want to know.

About the only corporation in KC big enough to foot the bill would be Sprint and Sprint Field wouldn't be to popular with the taxpayers of Jackson County.

I havent heard anything of the sort yet but I sure do hope they keep the name "arrowhead"! It's makes sense and it's just a cool name in general!

That would be better than Hallmark, lol.

Hallmark stadium would be pansy-like. After a beer? What beer is based in KC?
Now Sprint IS headquartered in KC. They could name the field 'Sprint Field' but keep the stadium Arrowhead.

I guess they do what they feel they have to do for $$, but I hate this sort of change, it just doesn't feel right in my 'soul' for Arrowhead to be called anything but 'Arrowhead'. I'll never call Arrowhead anything else, regardless of change.

Connie Jo, I feel the same.

After a little searching, I found some information. Apparently, they had no takers for the first 12 months of trying. Chief's administration is now trying to sell it on their own.

They are looking for 5 million per year for 20 years for naming rights. The administration would like the name Arrowhead to remain, but that is not a requirement.

Kansas City Chiefs go solo to find a buyer for naming rights to Arrowhead Stadium - Kansas City Business Journal: (http://kansascity.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/2009/08/03/story11.html)
So there we go.

They have Boulevard brewing company, who is becoming more popular. They dont make nearly enough revenue to buy the rights to the name of the stadium though.

No large domestic, even a large domestic brewed in Canada can hold up to what I drink.
