Does anyone else have a second favorite team they follow? For the first time ever I am honestly thinking of picking up another team because I cant take losing anymore. Football is becoming depressing every week when the Chiefs lose. I am from KC but I live in New Jersey now and I am starting to pull for the Giants every week. Share your second favorite team if you have one?

Nothing but Chiefs for me...

For me, there really isn't another team. However, if there's an underdog going into the playoffs, I'll gladly cheer for them to knock off the usual big dogs.

I only cheer for the Chiefs, or just about anyone playing the Broncos, Raiders, or Chargers.

Chiefs all the way. There's teams I certainly like more than others, but in the end I don't really care about any team but the Chiefs.

I do reserve the right to have a love/hate relationship with them, however. I'm becoming more frustrated by the day right now.

Same with everyone else, im only the Chiefs. But IF I HAD TO choose one, it would be an NFC team, and it would be the Saints. But no matter what team i watch, i cannot get into it the way i can a Chiefs game.

Just to clear things up... I'm not saying i would ever pull for them over the Chiefs. When week 4 rolls around its all Chiefs for me. It's just nice to have another team to follow when Sunday comes around that wont make me want to kill people during the fourth quarter.

I only really care for the Chiefs (I don't have a mistress, the Chiefs are the only team for me), but with that said I usually enjoy watching great players such as Purple Jesus and Cool Brees and I enjoy watching tough defense struggles and shootouts.

It's kind of like women for me, I cannot have more than one in my life, no time for any others.

I will watch St. Louis when they are on and I have nothing else to do, but I am not nearly as passionate about them.

My other team would be the Hawkeyes. I would say this year is starting out pretty good.
I do watch other NFL games and usually have a favorite in each game, sometimes it has something to do with disliking one team... ie Faiders, Dolts, Donks, Cheatriots. There are teams I kinda root for because of a few players I like, such as kinda rooting for the Falcons because I would like Tony to get his ring and come back. I follow several of the Hawkeyes in the NFL ... Dallas Clark, Bob Sanders, Chad Greenway, and now Shonn Green.
Grew up watching Joe Montana so if there is no reason to root against them like the 9ers ok, and also was young and lived in the area during the 85 Bears Super Bowl Shuffle, so kinda watch the Bears also my wife is a Bears fan.
Other then that I just like football in general but I only pay attention or get emotional when it is the Chiefs, there is also no other team that I would miss anything to watch the game. Dont disturb me when my Chiefs are on.

I always liked the Chiefs, much to the chagrin of my Raider fan father. But I became a rabid fan when my favorite player (up til then) Marcus Allen was treated so poorly by Al Davis and ended up with the Chiefs. I was ecstatic and no longer cared what my Dad thought. Of course, I do like my almost hometown team, the Cards. While I root for them, I wouldn't drive the 250 miles to Phoenix to watch them or buy their merchandise. I did pay $150 for the same parka Marcus Allen wore in the 94 season. And I'm a cheapskate. But it is Chiefs or nothing. I'll grumble and sulk and every fall/winter Sunday get excited and pray for them to win. Ain't no other team that means that to me.

I am a super Chiefs fan but i root for the texans unless they are playing the chiefs because i live in Houston but I dont buy any merchandise or anything like that. I do like the Saints in the NFC because I dont see why you cant like a nfc team and a afc team so you can double your chances for a team you actually like lol but the Chiefs have my heart even though it is beating low right now lol

I like alot of different teams.

Most notably, the Steelers and Vikings.

But, as stated several times before me, in this thread, only when their winning can't hurt my Chiefs,

I take a liking to other teams based on players and coaches. I used to like the Lions. But then Barry retired.

I used to Like the Jags, but then Boselli got injured.

Ken Norton Jr - 49ers

Bill Cowher; Greg Lloyd; Rod Woodson; Joe Green; Jack Lambert; terry Bradshaw - Steelers

Jared Allen - Vikings

Redkins...they used to beat The Cowboys alot.

Eagles - Westbrook; Randall Cunningham

Titans/Oilers - Warren Moon

And so on...

But I can't get friendly with Raiders, Broncos, Chargers, nor Cowboys.

I don't care for anybody except the Chiefs. I get genuinely excited watching Chiefs games. If I'm watching any other team it's because it was either a good game or nothing else is one.

On a side note that a few others have shared, thank God for college football or else the fall would be.... oh wait.

Go Wildcats! :(

No second team for me. There are the 49ers as my team, teams I will cheer on because of friends affiliation (if it doesn't hurt the 49ers) including the Chiefs, Falcons and Dolphins and then teams I hate (Cowboys, Rams, Packers, Raiders, Cards and Seahaws...pretty much in order of amount of hate)

Those not listed are pretty much indifferent...but I'll root for any team playing the hated ones...

Having spent 24 years in the Navy and stationed all over the country, there are a number of teams I will keep track of. That being said, The Chiefs Are my passion, have the gear, wear the colors, cheer win the y make good plays, swear when they do stupid things.
For all the critics, I am excited about the Pioli, Haley team. During the Herm era, to keep from throwing something thru the TV, I'd get mad, turn off the TV and go do honey-do's. So far this year that hasn't happened.

I respect a lot of teams, but can only bring myself to root for the Chiefs and any teams I have money riding on. Last night I had $250 riding on the Dolphins +3.5 pts vs Indy. The Dolphins dominated every aspect of the game and somehow found a way to lose by 4 pts on the final drive of the game.

Sound familiar? I lost $250 on the hook right after watching my Chiefs lose the exact same way the day before. What a crappy football weekend.

As for a 2nd team, I have thought about rooting for the Lions as a 2nd team since I live here in Michigan. At least nobody could accuse me of being a bandwagon fan.

You should come to Canada. I got the Dolphins +4.5 and KC got 14.5 against Bal. Those "crappy" teams are winning me money!! :bananen_smilies046:

My dad's sister & her family were native's of Wisconsin, and so the Packers were a part of our extended family as a result. I consider them a second, but no where near the level of my Chiefs!!

I root for the Lions some too, cause I have several friends who are Lions fans...they're feeling pain of loss like us Chiefs fans are.
