View Full Version : Farewell Crowd

Just want to say I think this may be my last post here.

I've felt rejection all my life from people and thus have long struggled with feeling inferior. Always been single, always been a lonely guy. Felt rejected everywhere including churches. I've gone long periods of time not attending church (including the present times) because of feeling not wanted and accepted.

So it feels like the case here at the Crowd too. I try to reach out and enjoy posting and fun times with everyone here. But the high majority of the time most people here just don't respond to anything I say (whereas they constantly respond to everything others say).

Where it really hurt was when I announced I got tickets for the Chiefs Eagles game. I was so glad to share the news with fellow Chiefs fans here and asked for high fives. But only 3 people replied. It hit home that I guess I just don't fit in online either. Just probably not cool enough of a person in people's eyes. So I had another period of not posting here for a while.

Then when I took that walk on Friday with my Chiefs gear and got all those comments from Eagles fans in my area, I thought oh I gotta share that with the Chiefs Crowd. Plus it was only 2 days before the game and I of course keep getting increasingly excited about that. So I been posting here the last couple days as we approach game time. (I'll be entering the stadium in less than 6 hours now. So exciting).

But I still continue to get little or no response to the things I say. And especially from the regular posters here which is all the more puzzling. I would have thought people would have thought it was cool I am going to a Chiefs game.

I plan to take lots of pics at the game. But am afraid if I share them here only 3 people at the most will acknowledge them (whereas if it was many other people's pics there'd be an avalanche of "Great pics!" and other replies). It just hurts too much.

I love that there's a forum like this for Chiefs fans. It's been especially meaningful for a fan like me who lives a long way from Kansas City and hasn't had much fellow Chiefs fans to talk with. But if the reality is I'm just not wanted then I have to accept it, painful as it is.

Well just explaining what's going on. No bitterness intended. And I'm still gonna be just as excited and ecstatic at the game today and rootin' for our Chiefs are heartily as all of you. So enjoy the game today. May we get our first win and beat the Eagles!

Take care.

This is ocming out of left field for me too. I don't always get to reply to posts that I read. Live gets in the way. I hope you enjoy your game today and I also hope the Chiefs win. Hopefully you'll post some pics.

Hey I hardly respond to any post, here. If you look at the volume of post, most of the time when I sign on, there are 200 hundred or more unread post, I may or may not read thru them, I never respond to all them. You are a valued member of the Chief's Crowd. I am jealous that you are going to the game today, I wish I was going!

Well, not having me respond to your posts here is usually considered a good thing.

Everyone else gets salty at me when I respond to them.

But that's because I rarely reply to what I agree with.

And game pics, and getting to go to a game just makes me jealous. (Not been able to make it to one yet.) Though, I usually do go take a peek at them.

I'd say that, unless you are disagreeing with someone on here, then topics don't get alot of coverage.

And as much traffic as the site gets lately, I almost never take the time to go through topics that are unlikely to generate some disagreements. For, both, discussion and moderating, purposes.

So, hope you come back and share with the crowd, after you get done watching The Chiefs beat The Eagles today.

I'm relatively new here, but thought I'd add my 2 cents. I don't post alot, but I do usually read a majority of the posts. I'm a lurker on most of the boards I'm on. Don't let the fact that people don't respond to your posts be the reason you leave. I'm sure there are more people like me who read the posts but don't respond. If you weren't wanted here someone would've let you know.

Actually not having a lot of people respond to you on this board can sometimes be seen as a good thing.

Most of the people that get a lot of response get it because they are controversial. Bashing a player that most love, bashing the coach, the team or talking smack about a habit of someone.

There are a lot of people on this board, I am not sure I have responded to any of your comments but I DO know your user name. There are so many here that dont make a contribution in my book if your contribution wasnt appriciated or hated I personally qould not recognize your user name at all.

Also there are several examples of where someone (myself once) that talked about leaving the crowd and usually (such as in my case) the other posters offer to show you the door. The fact that most are speaking up against you leaving speaks volumes. I can tell you if I offered to leave again there would be 100 responses begging me to follow through.

You are wanted and we do appriciate your contribution. Your just not controversial or hated.

Hope you stick around.

I don't know what to say because I never saw your post about the tickets.

It sounds like you are pretty depressed. Oh I have hit rock bottom before, it was bad. I had a bad breakup and got to feeling that no one will love me. When I'm depressed, the first to go is my medicine(seizure medicine and all). I never left my apartment for at least a couple of months that I know of. I don't remember a thing of those months, I don't know how my cat got fed. I came to on the floor with my cat curled up beside me, I was so sore that it felt like I had had a seizure. In my bedroom on the wall was dried blood splattered like I had really bit my tongue bad and during a seizure. All this had hit home - God loves me. I found a church that I could be active in the ministries. I know that no one here wants to hear this but I'm going to say it but Jesus saved me when I thought no one cared.

You say that you don't fit in at church - you must stop thinking about you. Get involved in your church's ministries. Read your Bible about every wonderful thing God did for his children! Did you know that you are a Prince and will inherit the kingdom of God. Just keep remembering that God loves you so much.

Since seeing our progress throughout this game I will not give you a high five but a nice gentle pat on the back. Wish it would have been a better outcome for you. I will check out the pics for sure! Stick around.... life is very busy for me ft work, ft school and two kids. I do not post a lot because I am too busy and like tornado said... when I come in, I have missed hundreds of posts.

Cmon man , most of us lead busy lives and I for one do more reading than posting , Im sorry I dont post responses and I kinda actually feel your pain. I have posted some things that I really took to heart or thought was cool and it kinda got a few word responses , people are just lazy ( me ) . Dont take it to heart bro ! I for one do really appreciate the normal few that respond to my posts ! I love the crowd here and usually refrain from posting more due to the fact I would be posting a response that would keep an argument going.I have met many of the members here in person and let me tell you they are a class act and Hopefully one of these days I can add you to the number of ChiefsCrowd members I have had the pleasure to tailgate with ! Hell I just went to Arrowhead last weekend and met three members and only planned on meeting one. Give us another chance and we will try a little harder to respond to post like yours wanting to share a story ! Thats what its all about here and I for one appologize to you !

I hope you reconsider and return to ChiefsCrowd. I didn't post in your thread directly to you, but did read your post and replied within the thread.

I'm in the habit of reading through a thread & tend to post a reply as I go along here & there maybe...much like a general conversation would be with a group...don't always reply to each person, but join in the general conversation.

I did enjoy your post & reading the many replies throughout the thread. :)

I want to add, that...I can empathize at times with your feeling lonely. I'm sorry you're feeling that way, and know at times how sad & depressed it can make your heart feel.

My kids are grown, I divorced last March, after 37 yrs of
marriage. Many wonder & ask why someone would divorce after that many yrs together. It might make you feel a bit more at ease if you know you're not alone with feeling depressed, rejected, and lonely...so I'll share this:

My X hubby had a heart attack scare Feb. 07, the month following, he began to change in personality negatively, & was diagnosed with severe clinical depression as a result of facing his mortality & aging. He didn't follow through with promises to seek professional counseling, & he turned to Jim Beam to relieve his panic attacks.

He became emotionally & physically abusive. After 2 1/2 yrs of my trying to help him, and stand beside him through sickness...I realized, regardless of my love for him, that I couldn't help someone who wouldn't help themself. The Dr's say he may never come out of it, especially without treatment. The only person I could help was me...before his instability and abuse destroyed what life & spirit he had not already drained of me the past 2 1/2 yrs.

I don't regret my choice, and do my best to move forward with a new life free of the abuse...but know
how the lonliness & rejection can feel at times.

I don't live close to my friends, nor family. I've never been alone, or on my own so to speak...we were highschool sweethearts & married the Fall following graduation. Being unsure of ones future they once thought was set in stone...can be overwhelming at times, including that very down & sad feeling of isolation & lonliness.

Until my house sells, & I can move from the country...closer to civilization, & re-establish myself in business...I have little contact daily with the outside world.

I have my 3 dogs, they help, but they don't converse back in a manner I can always comprehend, hahaha. :) I make myself get out & do things for my own emotional well being. Sometimes a simple drive cranking up the stereo helps. I only participate in two websites...here & a music related site, but it does help to not feel so lonely at times simply talking on line to friends sharing interests.

I'll make you a deal...if you get to feeling lonely & just want a fellow Chiefs friend to talk to...I'll talk to you when I'm on line & can. I enjoy friends & talking, especially about Chiefs! The internet is a blessing indeed in many ways...we are only alone if we choose to be...someone is most always on line to talk to...either here, or at my music website. :)

Actually not having a lot of people respond to you on this board can sometimes be seen as a good thing.

Sometimes. Damn near always a good thing, if everyone ignores you.

Most of the people that get a lot of response get it because they are controversial. Bashing a player that most love, bashing the coach, the team or talking smack about a habit of someone.

There are a lot of people on this board, I am not sure I have responded to any of your comments but I DO know your user name. Ditto. There are so many here that dont make a contribution in my book if your contribution wasnt appriciated or hated I personally qould not recognize your user name at all.

Oh you recognize DH, Canada and TC's names. Admit it!:D

Also there are several examples of where someone (myself once) that talked about leaving the crowd and usually (such as in my case) the other posters offer to show you the door. Thank you Sn@keIze and tornadospotter (and again all of you who posted earlier). I'm glad my passion as a Chiefs fan shows that clearly. :)

This morning at work I got slammed by Eagles fans (as expected) razzing me with the typical, "Hey, how did Kansas City do yesterday, hahaha". And a couple guys said, "I can't believe you wore that Chiefs hat today." I said, "Well you see, I'm a true fan. I support them regardless of the outcome."

They may be gloating now, but they can see a real dedicated fan.

Now who can argue with that!

And this brought to mind a classic Divorce Court commercial from the 80's that I just searched for on youtube too. But I could only find a different one. But I recall the words so allow me to type it out:

Wife: You're an insensitive inconsiderate jerk!

Husband: Thank you, coming from you that's a compliment!

Wife: What did I ever see in you?

Husband: Try my bank account! And this house.

Wife: Which wer'e losing!

Husband: Which you never clean!

Wife: How would you know? You're never home!

Husband: Give me a reason to be!

Wife: Dinner!

Husband: Burnt!

Wife: Jerk!

Husband: Nag!

Wife: Creep!

Husband: That's it! I'm LEAVING!

Wife: Your'e STAYING!

Husband: I'm LEAVING!

Wife: Divorce Court's on.

Husband: Uh, okay I'm staying.

(Announcer: Watch Divorce Court weekdays at 10am on ... )

Then the couple are shown on the couch watching tv and the husband laughs and says, "Wow this couple really has problems, eh?" And the wife turns and looks at him like he's nuts. :D
