It's hard to talk right now with my foot in my mouth. All my optimism about the Chiefs has now been vaporized with this shoddy performance in the first half of preseason game 3. It looks like the '03 defense is on the field with the '07 offense. God help us!

The best thing to watch on the Chiefs right now is the one guy you don't want to see on the field-- the punter... Ok, I'm done venting and now I'm gonna go get so wasted I can't stand up. Peace.

this offense is a disgrace. why can the siants throw endless 5 to 10 yard passes and we cant? mcintosh will not be a total cure all at left tackle. but svitek must have trained at the school of jorden black.

As close as the defense is getting to clobbering him on almost every punt, I fear for his life.

It is just preseason, but I had hoped for a little offensive output.

Preseason is just practice. I think we will step it up in the regular season. Look at it this way. Last year the Faders looked good in preseason, (or the year before) and they tanked. Hopefully, it will be the opposite for us and we will have a crappy preseason and a great regular season...I know as a true diehard Chiefs fan I will be rooting no matter what.

Just think, the Colts bite in Preseason right now also and who will say they won't do good this year! Like I said Preseason is a practice anyway.

Why not; it'll be easy:

Offense sucked!

Defense bent.

Chiefs lost.

Defense bent? they were owned. the saints had their way from the 20 to the 20. their best 2 receivers weren`t playing. they seemed to play catch all night.

No they bent, the first two or three ( I can't remember ) scores where FGs not TDs; that's bending IMO. They scored a TD later in the game against second string IIRC.

Dude step away from the kool aid you are drinking. Our D was horrendous. Count the first downs. I don't care that we made a stop when we HAD to. We HAD to stop them in their own territory not deep in our own.

This D has done nothing to make me think that we have any chance of stopping even a mediocre offense right now.

It is still bending; I never said the defense played outstanding or even well, but that they bent. Seriously it's a word: "bent". I've also said in the past that this kind of defense is not particularly good in a close game. Would you have preferred the 2003 defense? You can look at how many first downs given up all you want to, but at the end of the day the only stat that matters is whose ahead when the clock ran out. For three weeks straight we have been behind when we ran out of time and looking at how the offense played I think they had much more to do with the loss then did the defense. The defense kept it close; it's up to the offense to score enough points to win. JMHO.

From what little I got to see; it was my birthday and the wife had specific plans. IIRC the first 2-3 possessions the defense held to field goals. Just how long did the first string "D" play?

Just watching the NFL Replay, right now. The starting defense played pretty well. They play a posession, or two, more than a half and allowed thirteen points. Considering the repeatedly poor field position, I think they did a pretty good job, against the number one offense.

Tank Tyler looks very good. He was holding his ground against some double-teams, in run defense and shoving back alot of single blockers, too.

I noticed a couple of coverage break-downs, but there was alot of good coverage, too.

Jared Allen was getting a good deal of pressure, pass-rushing and managed to make a sack and a pick, in coverage.

I thought that the goalline stands were very impressive.

Pollard tipped Brees' pass to cause the interception bt Allen.

So far, there have only been a couple of missed tackles. I am at three minutes left, in the third quarter.

I am not too disapointed with the defensive effort.

On offense, things were pretty sad. Bennett was doing a pretty good job of running the bvall, early. And Dwayne Bowe had the one very nice catch and run, after the catch.

Svitek is most certainly not ready to be an NFL left tackle. Probably not ready to play anywhere on the O-line, at this point.

I was happy with what Kyle Turley showed. For the most part, he stood his ground, in pass-protection.

I think Brodie Croyle was too conservative, eventhough he was under alot of pressure. He may have been trying to protect his job, by making sure he didn't throw a pick. Obviously, that didn't exactly work.

Anyway, I just thought I would share my opinion of the first...........three quarters, as of right now.
