My 2 would be

Tony Gonzalez
Derrick Thomas

These players were the two best to ever play there respected positions. Absolute beasts. I have never been more impressed by any 2 Chiefs players than these two. Yes they are recent but they were that great.

The list is long and distinguished, but DT tops it.

Well, but of course IMO the all time greatest was and still is Derrick Thomas...for his contributions on the field as a Chief, and off the field with this charity efforts, and all around enjoyable personality interacting with fans.

I agree with Chiefster, the overall list of Chiefs greats is long, and it begins with the Super Bowl IV era Chiefs. Those guys played some real tough football, back before so many rules were implented to protect players, and before they were paid millions to play...they played with true heart and soul because they loved the game!

Buch Buchanan
Bobby Bell
Otis Taylor
Len Dawson
Johnny Robinson
EJ Holub
Emmitt Thomas
Curtis McClinton
...and I know I'm forgetting others who can claim greatness in their own right!

Then of course we go into other era's...Art Still, Christian Okoye, Deron Cherry, Nick Lowery, Will Shields, Willie Roaf, Neil Smith, Joe Phillips, Marcus Allen, Dan Saleaumua, Tony G., Priest, Dante Hall, Trent Green, etc..

It always irritated me during Trent Greens time with the Chiefs, that he was ignored by the media. Their golden boy was Peyton Manning. Ironically, during those years...Tom Brady, Donovan McNabb, and Trent Green held the top 3 positions with overall QB stats...above Manning...who was 4th & 5th 2003-2004-2005.

I'm in my 20's, so unfortunately I don't have the fortune to comment on any players prior to the 90's but of the players I've been able to watch my list is pretty short and sweet:

Derrick Thomas
Will Shields
Tony Gonzalez
Priest Holmes

In that order. Those are the guys I'll be telling my grandkids about someday.
