The close date on bets should be earlier in the season...pay it out later still, but taking bets in December for this one (unless it ends up really close) seems silly

The odds will change, as the season progresses.

If the odds change...do I get to keep my odds that have been bet already...

i.e. If today I take Bowe @ 5/1, and you change the odds on 9/15 to 3/1 do I still have my $$ at 5/1???

Yes. When the odds get changed, all bets that have been made, will remain at the odds that the bet was made at. I'm pretty sure you can look at who has bet on what and it will show the bets that were made at previous odds.

I put my money on Gonzalez this year. Next year it should be Bowe. It usually takes receivers a year to fully get a feel for the position.

you forgot to let Marques Colston know about that rule last year...

Yeah but Colston was under the radar because everyone game planned for Bush. And everyone in the NFL knows Hermie won't change his run, run, run scheme.

Tony Gonzalez is the logical choice, however I like Bowe to emerge through the season and make a run at the lead. Seeing as the payout for Bowe is better, I'll lay my money on him. :D :D

How long is Kennison out? I heard a rumor that Sippio is being activated, but it is just a rumor.

I have to assume that Kennison will miss at least a couple weeks. Bowe has a roster spot, and if Sippio does well, I have to think they'll find a roster spot for both of them. Both have enough explosiveness to take KC over 21 points if they are used too much though. So the Herminator will likely only put one on the field at a time.

The oddsmaker seems to like Bowe's chances at taking this one, the odds have been adjusted to 4/1 on Bowe...

You're kidding right? I like Bowe at 4/1 about the same now as I did 5/1 before. Now it is essentially down to him or TG. Kennison may come back in 2-3 weeks but he'll be nursing a hammy, and won't be as effective. I think that this gives Bowe a legit chance at making a run at the top spot for KC, and the odds at 4/1 are still a great payout.

I stuck my $$ through green glasses.I.bet other threads for this Bear fest. I'm out of cash once again. Bad karma betting against the chiefs. Receiver? Give me two "o" line studs any day.

I like your Green glasses. I am a "Crowd Sportsbook" degenerate, and tend to give my "handicappers" opinion on a few bets that I think are good value bets. I have a lot of money out there right now...(waiting for Cleveland to clinch the AL Central so I can get flush again) I didn't see a lot of good value bets this week, although the best value last week was LJ for over 70 and Herminator screwed that up by limiting LJ's carries to 10. But alas, I did get good odds on my Huard bet for this weekend, and with Steady Eddie out, I liked this "season" bet on Bowe.

Whats your take on Sippio? I wonder if he should be apart of the wager here.

For the time being, I think he still fits in the "the field" option. As the season progresses, if Sippio should emerge as a top-reciever, then I would be inclined to seperate him from that grouping. I would like to see that happen, too.

I don't think you can change him at this point...I assume most of the people betting "the field" were thinking Sippio. If you separate him you invalidate their rationale. However if he begins to become part of the discussion as the receving leader, then the odds on the field would be appropriately adjusted.

As of right now, no one has bet the field...if that remains the case then you could add him...but assuming anyone bets the field before you add Sippio, then I'd say you have to leave him in "the field".

chief31, its time to adjust the odds on this one...Bowe is a 4/1 dog on the board, but he has the lead...not saying the odds can't go back up...but when he's in the lead 1/3 of the way through the season shouldn't the odds reflect that...1/1 or 3/2 seems more appropriate at this point.

With Kennison out again DBowe should be our number 1 and Sippio be our number 2. With them 2 and Tony-G we would have a passing threat. we would have 2 physical recievers that will go make the play.

Unfortunately Herm has a man-crush on Parker (or worse) and will likely leave him ahead of Sippion on the depth chart.

Bowe had a nice showing today...TG didn't get as much attention and the race between the two is getting closer. Sadly this was in a losing effort...but I was impressed by Bowe's performance against the Denver secondary. I figured Bailey and Bly would recover from a tough game last week, but they really didn't.
