View Full Version : JC 1000 yard rushing season?

honda522

Ok look.
JC has 605 yards right
There are 3 games left. To get to 1000 he need 395 yards.
395/3=131.66
So lets say he need to get an average of 132 YAG

That would put him the first RB to get to 1000 yards since 2006.

What you say?

Not likely to happen.

Next year there is no reason at all that he shouldnt.

I don't see how. I don't expect anything less than 125 against the browns.

Open up the passing game agianst the other teams and bring in play action, then go back to running it like in the old days....

ughh negative

browns defense has actually stepped up and been really good against the run.

bengals have a very good defense. not going to get 100 yds

he didn't get 100 against the broncos the first time in kc.. not going to happen in denver.

he will come close but don't think he will get it.

It would be awesome if he were to get 1000 yards but the possibility of it happening is slim. But for the amount of yards he has gained in the time he has started is impressive. He will probably pass 850 yards but 1000 is a bit of a stretch. But just imagine if he could get a good O-line in front of him.. :bananen_smilies046:

Playing the browns might help. I dont think it will happen but the browns have been known to give 200 yard plus rushing performances in the past. If Charles could do that then who nos. But unlikey for this year next year its very possible.

Browns are giving up 148 yards/gm on the ground (4th worst), and are without their star nose tackle Shaun Rogers.

Bengals are the 3rd best rush defense in the league, giving up only 86 yards a game.

Broncos are giving up 107.4, which puts them around the middle of the pack.

It'd be pretty tough for KCJC to do it, but if he does it would be something nice to take away from an otherwise somewhat disappointing season. He'll need to explode against the Browns like he's Chris Johnson.

Who cares. The accomplishment of being a 1k runner isn't that big of a deal anymore and is really a standard for average running backs. There are teams cranking out two 1k runners.

A featured back should get 1000 yards. I know he didn't play the whole season but the achievements isn't a wow....

Some of us enjoy finding something to be happy about when there isn't a whole lot to be happy about instead of drowning in negativity. Charles getting 1000 yards despite only starting 8 times with minimal touches before that would be a nice accomplishment if you ask me.

And no team is going to have 2 1000 yard rushers this season BTW.

Agree that he will most likely fall short of 1000.

But it will also be a great thing if he continues to maintain over 5 yds avg per carry. He had 5.3 last year and has been consistently at 5.2 this year. I say he finishes with at least 5.1.

Imagine how many yards he'd have if we hadn't wasted the first part of the season on that other guy.

Better yet, imagine how many rushing TD's we might have scored.

I don't want to cause it makes me pissed, then I start to think we would have won more games, our team would be more unified, etc.

I prefer the accomplishment that he has scored a Td in every game since LJ left. I like the fact, he isn't posting a 2.5 average per carry. I like the fact he is doing it hurt and with a bad line.

My point wasn't to be negative. Just the fact that having 1K yards doesn't mean much anymore. Specially since many teams are going away from the one featured back.

I hear ya man. KCJC has been such an improvement in every possible way over LJ. The only thing I don't understand is how Todd Haley didn't know this going into the season. I've been calling for Charles to start and LJ to be at most the short yardage back since the offseason!

You're right that 1000 yards isn't much of an accomplishment anymore. I just like the situation in this one a lot more.

jbNot to even mention how having JC starting and running for us in all 16 games would affect the way we controlled the ball in those games which also affects how the other teams score. We most seriously could have won more games with him running the ball. Cry baby LJ didn't even try , that put a tremendous amount of pressure on the team to try and throw the ball when we may have been able to run for some of those 3rd down conversions or what have you. I hope that he gets it, very unlikly he won't but if he does it will prove how little the cry baby was actually not doing.

It's nice having a kid in there who is trying to make a name for himself instead of someone trying to do just enough to get paid.

JC is doing what any pro would do and he is beginning to get a reputation as a talented RB with sprint speed. As far as your comment about a guy just doing enough to earn a pay check, if you are speaking of LJ , he didn't even do that. He is the absolute reverse 360 of professional. I never wish for this but he is the only player I would like to see taken out of the game by injury. Forgive me.

I never wish injury upon anyone, but do believe his attitude will find him bouncing from one team to the next, much like TO, and eventually out of the game.

I think it just came a point in his life where he's just losing his drive. That's all. Just doesn't have the love and passion for the game like he used to. It happens to people all the time.

Don't let your hate for Denver get in the way of rational thinking, it just makes you look foolish.

We have Philly on the road and Oakland and K.C. in Denver.

Book it-San Diego and the Donks will be representing the AFC West in the playoffs. And by the way, Charles will end up with around 820 yards.

JC will get to 946 yds.

Still very good numbers if you take the o-line and the number of games.

I sure remember 06' when the Chiefs were in the hunt. We had to win, Jacksonville had to win, and the 49er's had to win IN Denver. The odds were way against that. A yet poines fell apart at home against the 7-9 49ers. :D

Kid Azteca
12-19-2009, 09:12 PM
Yup and that sucked too. But it only goes to show that even through our crappy years in Denver the Broncos were still in the hunt.

This year is no different, but there is a different vibe going on with team-it's not all rosey but I like the direction. And I especially like the prospects of Denver going into New England.

How quaint that saying is, the ones who lose alot love it and the ones who win hate when it is used. After the way we got beat up by the Jack Asses the first game this year I hope we can muster pride and go into mile high and whip their asses down. I meant to do that pun by the way :D
