I was looking on Twitter today and saw the following from Eric Berry:

@berry14 Had a great workout with @BFlowers24. You'd think he was a coach.

After that, Jarrad Page sent to Flowers:

JarradPage44 @BFlowers24 u get that knowledge from big bro. Lol. I hope we get em in KC

I'm sure the players don't have much, if any say, into who the organization drafts. Nevertheless it seems that half of our own secondary is on the Berry bandwagon as well.

I think if we were better, and didn't have as many other holes, Berry would be the best pick. But the OL needs a work, and we need WR depth and LB depth more than secondary help.

My thinking is O line and pass rush are more needed. If we get a good pass rush the secondary will look better. But Barry is good enough to at least think about getting him. I would not be to upset if we took him but I do agree we have bigger needs then secondary.

I wish we could trade a 2nd rounder for Jared Gaither and take Berry.

That would be the dream scenario. If we did this, we'd upgrade our LT, LG, C, and Safety postions as well as making our entire team better as whole. If we could do all this and land Cam Thomas at 2b, we'd have the makings of a very solid team.

One thing that needs to be considered is depth at each postion we need help at.

From what I read this is a deep Oline, LB, draft so maybe these needs can be filled with starters in the 2nd round which would allow for the drafting of Berry in the 1st He is an impact player

Remember when we had great safeties...............its been a minute
Maybe Lewis and Ross:)

Just a thought and the kid is a difference maker

Yes I agree, somebody beside Hali has to get sacks, and most of his came in 1 game

I'm thinking if Berry falls to us though, Okung is most likely off the board. Is there another O-lineman that fits the #5 spot that you can justify taking over Berry?

The obvious possibility is Bryan Bulaga since his coach is one of Pioli's best friends and there's been a rumored interest already.

But personally I think there's a big dropoff from Okung to Bulaga, so I really hope we take Berry if we're in that spot.

Agreed...That's why I don't see taking an OL if Okung is off the board and Berry isn't.

Okung is the prototypical LT in this draft. MIA picked up Jake Long over Calvin Johnson, and a QB (they took Henne in the 3rd) to go for LT. Jason Smith went to STL over a few big names last year. I seriously doubt Okung will last past no.4 overall.

Which means Berry falls in our lap...

I would almost rather see us trade down to another team for two more picks than trying to get Berry if Okung is not available.

I am sure the kid is great, but he is going to deman top dollar and I do not get the impression that Pioli and Haley are looking for big names right now.

someone has to be willing to trade into that #5 spot.

With rookie contracts how they are nowdays, i feel that is unlikely.

I hate getting too excited about getting Berry because of potential let down, lol, but I can't help it. Seeing him, Flowers and Page in the secondary would add at least 3 wins to this season and make for some exciting football.

Hopefully one of the owners who loves to overpay players will trade. Jerry Jones maybe...I think they are one of the teams that cant sign FAs unless they lose one. Im sure hes got money burning a hole in his pocket during an uncapped year!!

If Sue is still there at 5, there will be takers because he won't get past Seattle.

I don't think so. We would have to change defensive schemes.

Yeah. Far better to waste his skills in a defense that does not use them.:D

Really... I didn't know Suh was projected as a 3 4 DE. I know he is not a NT.
