I think we all knew who was our best draft choices of all time. I thought DT should have been number one. Even though he never won the superbowl, he carried the team on his back.

Bobby Bell and that defense back then was just plain ridiculous. No question, he's #1 in my book.

I have to agree DT should have been number 1. He was a great great player.

DT is number 1 for sure. Tony is second, and before you bash, just realize how many touchdowns he has got for us and how many games we have won because of those!

Derrick Thomas and Tony Gonzalez In my opinion. DT was amazing and he would have been even more of an outstanding player if he hadn't died and Tony G is the best Tight end of all time!

Tony Gonzalez and Derrick Thomas no doubt. In a couple more years we might be able to add Jamaal Charles's name to this argument.

Another name we could add is Will Shields..

DT is the #1 draft pick in my opinion...based upon many factor's, not just his game stats & records.

He did carry the team on his back in many ways, including being the very heart & soul of the Chiefs in spirit. The Chiefs lost 'team heart & soul' when we lost DT...and they've not been the same since.

I believed Jared Allen to be the first player to possess the potential to bring heart and soul back to the Chiefs team...but alas, CP screwed that up big time! :(

I agree! He's a great player and he has a great career ahead of him!

Not bashing on any opinions of DT or TG, because both clearly had HoF careers.

I just found it REALLY hard to go against Bobby Bell, a big reason is because of that Superbowl victory. Of course, the old relatives I've got always telling me how incredible he was had a factor in it too.

My personal opinion again, I just think a lot of people are going with more recent top picks because we actually saw them play.

Bobby Bell is in my #2 spot. Although I did watch him play, don't remember much, since it was pre-teen years, haha. Bobby is an awesome person off the field too, having attended many Draft Day Celebrations at Arrowhead, mingling among fans...not sitting behind a table like most, but actually walking around meeting & talking to fans.

That said, I choose DT as #1 over Bobby not simply based upon stats/records...rather also because of what he brought to the game & fans. His spirit and energy on the field appears greater than Bobby's, by comparison to watching old game film of Bobby. Bobby was more serious in personality, didn't have that awesome energy, charisma with the fans, laugh & smile DT wore often during the game. DT was great with encouraging fans to participate as the 12th man also, didn't see that with Bobby.

I say Jared Allen at #1. Not that he is the best player we have ever drafted, but that he is such a great player and drafted so late.

If you get a great player in the first round... kudos.

But if you get a great player in the late fourth round... Amazing!

Even worse. We got rid of him. Because we needed the money to sign LJ long term.

I think I did too!

~Rutroh!~ I'd best not go there with my 'still feeling it wounds' related to CP getting rid of Jared Allen...or someone will post 'it's in the past, get over it!' I'm a girl...I don't get over BIG SCREW UPS 'that' easily!

Yeah, but the stigma is that women don't get over stuff, lol.

Hey! Speaking of the legendary great Bobby Bell...he's my friend at Facebook...the real Bobby, not a fake or just a fan page, but the real Bobby, haha. I'm hoping he'll be in attendance at Draft Day this year. He has been in years past.
