So every year on the Rotoworld.com forums, they have a mock draft in which members sign up for different teams. This was my first year doing it. I picked for the Chiefs and Steelers. Here are the results through all of the picks I made, what do you guys think of the Chiefs picks?
Let me preface this by saying this. At first I thought we were picking who we though the respective team's GM would take. Then I found out that it is more "if you were the GM who would you take." Hence that's why I took Bulaga first round, though I'm not all that disappointed with it. I also posted everyone else's picks so you can see who was off the board at the time I made my picks. We only did 3 rounds (though may be adding a 4th).

1.) Brian Bulaga, OT - The Chiefs get to add a solid LT to bolster their offensive line. While they would have liked to trade down and still take him, they get the guy they want. This allows Albert to move from LT to his more natural position of RG, or even give him a chance at RT, which is now the weakest spot on the line with the additions of Wiegmann and Lilja. When all is said and done, KC's line looks a lot better for the 2010 season, with some excellent depth as well.
Eric Berry wasn't too much of an option. I don't see them forking out that kind of money for a safety (not the Pioli way), especially with other questions about their front 7 and offensive line. The only other player I considered here was Dan Williams, but the FA addition of Shaun Smith at NT does improve this position, and it's hard to justify taking 3 defensive linemen in the top 5 for 3 years in a row.
2A.) Nate Allen, S - After passing on the best safety in the draft in Berry, I looked to fulfill a glaring need at safety. A highly touted prospect that has gotten somewhat lost in this deep safety draft, Allen has the tools to make a difference for us right away, and the secondary will benefit greatly hopefully. It's a little questionable where he will fit in, as he played FS in college, but he definitely has the physical attributes of a SS so he could compete with Mike Brown for a starting job on day 1 while the now healthy Jarrad Page will take over the FS position. I was really hoping for Golden Tate to last one more pick for a Tate/Weiss reunion, but can't blame the Bucs at all for taking him. As he said, they have, nobody.
2B.) Cam Thomas, NT - With the newly installed 3-4 defense, the Chiefs gave up over 2500 yards rushing in 2009. A big part of this was the lack of a true NT that could plug the middle. While we did acquire Shaun Smith, there are big question marks around him and whether he is going to be effective in the middle of the line. Cam Thomas has a great NT frame at 6'4" and 330 lbs, and should step in and compete with Smith for a starting job from day one.
3.) Carlton Mitchell, WR - The Chiefs lack a true deep threat at WR. Mitchell posted impressive 40-times at the USF pro day. The physical attributes of Mitchell are very ideal for a potential #1 WR. The Chiefs led the league in drops last year, so some help at WR is definitely needed. Chambers was resigned in the offseason, but at 32, it's still a big question whether he can continue to contribute. Bowe has shown flashes of greatness, but is as inconsistent as they come.
