So every year on the Rotoworld.com forums, they have a mock draft in which members sign up for different teams. This was my first year doing it. I picked for the Chiefs and Steelers. Here are the results through all of the picks I made, what do you guys think of the Chiefs picks?

Let me preface this by saying this. At first I thought we were picking who we though the respective team's GM would take. Then I found out that it is more "if you were the GM who would you take." Hence that's why I took Bulaga first round, though I'm not all that disappointed with it. I also posted everyone else's picks so you can see who was off the board at the time I made my picks. We only did 3 rounds (though may be adding a 4th).

17 (81) - Pittsburgh -- RyFo18 -- Selvish Capers, OT, West Virginia

1.) Brian Bulaga, OT - The Chiefs get to add a solid LT to bolster their offensive line. While they would have liked to trade down and still take him, they get the guy they want. This allows Albert to move from LT to his more natural position of RG, or even give him a chance at RT, which is now the weakest spot on the line with the additions of Wiegmann and Lilja. When all is said and done, KC's line looks a lot better for the 2010 season, with some excellent depth as well.

Eric Berry wasn't too much of an option. I don't see them forking out that kind of money for a safety (not the Pioli way), especially with other questions about their front 7 and offensive line. The only other player I considered here was Dan Williams, but the FA addition of Shaun Smith at NT does improve this position, and it's hard to justify taking 3 defensive linemen in the top 5 for 3 years in a row.

2A.) Nate Allen, S - After passing on the best safety in the draft in Berry, I looked to fulfill a glaring need at safety. A highly touted prospect that has gotten somewhat lost in this deep safety draft, Allen has the tools to make a difference for us right away, and the secondary will benefit greatly hopefully. It's a little questionable where he will fit in, as he played FS in college, but he definitely has the physical attributes of a SS so he could compete with Mike Brown for a starting job on day 1 while the now healthy Jarrad Page will take over the FS position. I was really hoping for Golden Tate to last one more pick for a Tate/Weiss reunion, but can't blame the Bucs at all for taking him. As he said, they have, nobody.

2B.) Cam Thomas, NT - With the newly installed 3-4 defense, the Chiefs gave up over 2500 yards rushing in 2009. A big part of this was the lack of a true NT that could plug the middle. While we did acquire Shaun Smith, there are big question marks around him and whether he is going to be effective in the middle of the line. Cam Thomas has a great NT frame at 6'4" and 330 lbs, and should step in and compete with Smith for a starting job from day one.

3.) Carlton Mitchell, WR - The Chiefs lack a true deep threat at WR. Mitchell posted impressive 40-times at the USF pro day. The physical attributes of Mitchell are very ideal for a potential #1 WR. The Chiefs led the league in drops last year, so some help at WR is definitely needed. Chambers was resigned in the offseason, but at 32, it's still a big question whether he can continue to contribute. Bowe has shown flashes of greatness, but is as inconsistent as they come.

The guy called "Mr. Armageddon" i think made a wrong pick. Aren't we all sure that the Rams are taking Sam Bradford? I'm prettys sure that NFL Network is.

Yeah everyone was like, what the hell are you doing? Either way, it didn't really shuffle the top 4 picks any differently (the same 4 guys that are expected to go went).

Seattle traded #6 overall, their 2nd and Ryan Sims (before he actually got traded) for #2.

oh right. I don't think that'll happen. And if they were making that trade to get Sam Bradford, I dont think they'd be able to get him anyway because in my mind the Rams are almost certainly taking Sam Bradford.

If the Seahawks really want to draft a QB, I think Jimmy Clausen will still be around at #6.

I agree. I kind of think that the Delhomme signing by Cleveland is much like what the Buccaneers did last year with signing Byron Leftwich then drafting Josh Freeman.. Smokescreen.

If I recall the trade actually went down before the draft started. I'm pretty sure he was looking to take Suh, but once Suh went, Seattle couldn't pass up Bradford.

What we need to hope for is Buffalo wanting to drafting him so they swap 1st round picks with us so they can jump ahead of Cleveland and then we can get another 2nd or 3rd out of it.

About 2 months ago I could see the Rams taking Suh but since they released Marc Bulger I can't see them passing on Bradford.

Just an interesting fact; The Rams haven't drafted a QB in the first round since the 1960s

I think there is a good shot that one of Bulaga, Trent Williams, or Dan Williams available. There's rumors that the Redskins might actually see T. Williams as more of a fit than Okung (don't ask me why). But I would love if Okung fell to us.

My two favorites in this draft have been Rolando McClain and Dez Bryant, so either one of them would be ok. If Pioli wanted to reach with Weatherspoon that would be cool too I think. Just to please the Eric Berry fans  I think there is possibility that he could slide to #9.

I think people like Okung too much, but then again you really can't say if they are a great player or not once they are drafted and playing for someone.

I'm still saying Eric Berry though! I like Earl thomas too but you know who I'm haping for.

I'm neutral on McClain and I think Dez Bryant is a great player but WR isn't in as much need anymore. I'm sticking with Eric Berry.

I put the need for a WR as moderate. Dwayne Bowe I believe has the potential to be awesome.. Chris Chambers is 32.. by NFL standards he's getting old, so there's no guarantee he can or will exactly do what he did last season. There's where Dez Bryant comes in.. He's a great WR who could use discipline (Pioli has done it with Moss he can do it with Bryant) he will have a veteran to learn from (Chris Chambers) and have 2 coaches who breathe offense (Todd Haley and Charlie Wies) If Todd Haley could somehow turn Bowe and Bryant into the next Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, my question is why not take Dez Bryant?

I'll say this too like I've said before I will be more than happy with whoever we select as long as he brings pride to the Chiefs as well as victories. The reason I say no to Berry at 5 is due to the simple fact this draft is Safety heavy, so why waste a 1st round pick if you can pretty much get the same talent in the 2nd round? LB's, and WR's are not as deep as safety. I'd rather bargain than pay more for the same level of talent.

There are safeties with as much potential as Berry? If so, this is the first time I've heard someone mention that. One reason I've been so pro-Berry is because I thought he was the best of the best, and we need a talented Safety desperately IMO.

First off, I like your draft choices. Lots of needs addresed there.

Secondly, while it may not make sense in this mock that you did, Seattle would make such a trade, if they really wanted Bradford, as som other team might make the trade if they don't.

Still an unlikely scenario. But not too terribly far-fetched. Perhaps too much given up too though.

Earl Thomas, Taylor Mays, Nate Allen, Morgan Burnett, Reshad Jones. Any one of those guys can give the same level of play as Berry. There are roughly 10 guys who can be drafted between the 1st and 2nd rounds which signifies a pretty deep draft class at that position. Sure.. in college they may not have been as good as Eric Berry, but this is still such a deep class why pay a guy around $40 Million guaranteed when you can get a quality starter in the 2nd or even 3rd round? Also to have a great secondary you have to have a good front seven which we do not have yet but if you can lock that up with the first two picks and then draft a safety you save yourself a lot of money.

The need for a QB is pretty concentrated this year. I don't see anyone being so in love with Bradford that they would bet the farm for him in a trade.

If we were lucky enough to swap picks with Buffalo, it opens up a whole group of players.

Berry, Bulaga, McClain, Trent Williams, Dan Williams, Dez Bryant, Brandon Graham, and Derrick Morgan could all be legit picks for the CHIEFS at the #9 spot.

there's significantly less pressure at #9 than #5. it's still a big risk, but I think top ten is easier to swallow than top 5.

That works pretty well, unless Cleveland decides to trade up ahead of them.

Should The Rams pass on Bradford, the #2 spot could become quite a hot spot for trade talks.

Just making a little bit of sense of why The Seahawks would bother to make a trade to the #2 spot to get him.

No way the Rams pass on Bradford. Its a lock.

There's severe talks of the Browns trading with the Rams for the 1st pick. Which would make an awful amount of sense for both teams. The Rams have holes at every position and could use the extra picks. The Browns have several extra picks and are a QB away from contention.

The Rams could then pick Clausen at #7 or McCoy in the 2nd (they seem infatuated with him).
