Well, Pioli clearly said "Brandan Albert is our Left Tackle, and he improved over the season last year" so we can scratch Bulaga off the list. What did you all think?

I think a GM is supposed to keep everyone guessing a week before the draft and he's doing just that.

I think because Pioli came out and said that, I'm guessing his actual opinion is the complete opposite.

Or Berry or Clausen. Then trades him...

Berry is probably coming to town! I do think he is really a "can't miss!"

I thought he pretty much ruled Berry out once he brought up Economics.

I believe he was specifically asked about Albert. I think it was Adam Teicher asking. Right now there is no other LT on this team better than Albert. He certinaly will not say anything negative about Albert until they have a better option or you get into a situation like Denver did last year with Jay Cutler. Josh McDaniels basically said Cassel was his guys, didn't get him and burned his bridge with Cutler and was forced to trade him.

He has also said, he is not interest in drafting a saftey at #5. Yet Many still think he is the guy.

I hope the Chiefs are hoping Okung falls to 5, if he does not, they call Baltimore offer the 2nd from Atlanta for TG, and get Gaither and then draft another position. If Baltimore says, NO thanks... We draft a Trent Williams or Bulaga.

I thought that too, until he was talking about the economics of the posotions like the D line. There is a lot of money tied up in the D line already, but not in the safety positions. There is some big improvement of the o line already and it just seems like they can still get o line in the second round if that is a concern. I don't see them taking a tackle with the first pick, especially if Okung is gone. That is too high for McLain but trading "up or down" is an option for sure and then he is the player I would try to get if we traded down.

Rule to go by if a GM says anything this time of year DO NOT BELIVE him.

Believe him for what he says, or distrust what he says, it is all smoke and mirrors the week before draft, but there may be subtle clues given out. I think we are going to be surprised, again with 1 round pick.

I think what he said was " Brandon Albert is the best LT on this team. That doesn't mean he is not drafting one.

I have to agree with Ryfo18 on this one suddenly. Pioli is not going to say "yes Brandon Albert stinks and we need a LT" before the draft. He is not going to give anything away.

One of the things that I loved hearing Pioli say in this conference that so many people seem to not have a grasp of.

"While I might be interested in making a trade, if I don't have a trade partner, there is nothing we can do."

That is so true. I am sure Pioli would want to trade down, heck, he might want to trade up, but if the price is not correct, you can forget about the trade.

Defense. That's what we need most. We seriously need a pass rush.

I agree we need a pass rusher, but you are talking with the 5th pick over all. Who is this person, and who do you sit in favor of them.

We already have high draft picks in both our DE with Dorsey and Jackson, We have a high pick in Tamba Hali leaving a possible OLB to replace Mike Vrable.

There is need as a pass rusher, but I think there a bigger holes that need a balanced player. Not a specialist like pass rushing. We do need another Tackle. LT or RT, either or. We do need help at, NT, ILB and OLB to help the pass rush and run support. We do need help at SS as well as another corner.

I just have to fully agree. the more I think about it, we need Dan Williams as our NT. There are safties galore and linebackers, and OT's that will be available in later rounds. Get a true NT to complete the 3-4 and watch Tamba Hali go nuts on oppossing QB's!
