I have ordered 20. I would like to make this game the ChiefsCrowd get together. I will still be attending the 49ers game Week 3 as well. Anyone interested in tickets for the opener, let me know.

I have 4 for myself
Vanilla Garilla - 2
Ryfo (I will hold 2 for you if u want to go to this game)
Stricken721(I will hold 2 for you if you want to go to this game too)

That leaves 12 tickets still available. I can try and order more if there is any interest!!

If there is still enough interest in the 49ers game I can order tix for that as well. Let me know who is interested and I will get ot work on it!! :bananen_smilies046:

Ehh gonna be tough for me to make the MNF game. There you go changing plans on me!

My vacation for the year is going to be about gone after my honeymoon, so it'll be really tough for me to swing it.

I'm in for both games!!! I'll offer my second ticket to Kelly first for both games...with the games that close together, he likely won't be able to do both, especially with living in Wisconsin. I'll find someone to take the second ticket if he can't make it. :D

How much money is this total you need by June 1st for two tickets to both games? I need to include it in my May budget. Thank you my RED & GOLD blooded Canadian friend! :D

This is my question too! Who do I send the money to, exactly how much...$160 for my two tickets?

Oh, and in case you didn't get my reply message at FB...scratch me for the 49er's tickets. Kelly bought two upper level Season Ticket seats last week, and I'll use those when I attend the 49er's game, but we still want to keep the lower level tickets for MNF through Canada's Chiefs Crowd efforts, and sit with the Chiefs Crowd group MNF.

Also, since there has been some recent speculation among my family and local friends...I now feel the need to clarify among all my friends, that Kelly and I are very good friends, nothing more, not a 'couple' so to speak. Fricken small town gossip...UGH!

To all of those attending the Chiefs vs Chargers MNF game. I will be sending you info about payment and who to contact tomorrow. I just spoke with the group sales manager and I will be sending her the final list of orders tonite.

We have however run into a slight glitch. Turns out that the tickets for the home opener are also sold in conjunction with tickets to another game. Meaning: I have to buy 20 tickets to another game to be eligible for the MNF tix. I have decided to go ahead and place the order and have paid the deposit on an order of 20 tickets to the Chiefs v 49ers Week 3. The tickets are available at a discounted price. Lower level tix will be $76 and upper deck seats are available for $50. Anyone who is interested in this game please send me a PM ASAP!! They are going to be available on a first come first serve basis. I can order more if there is a need.:bananen_smilies046:

Oh he's coming (with a little peer pressure from the rest of us).

I hope so!! Tailgating wouldn't be the same without Canada's presence! hahaha
:sFl_canada2:

I originally had my name on Canada's list for the 49ers tickets, before the CC get together was changed to MNF after the schedule was announced, & then added my name to the MNF list as well...but I still planned to do both.

Well, then last week Kelly bought us upper level Season Tickets. He had called a day or so after I was home from the cruise, and told me about the great deal being offered by the Chiefs for Season Tickets, but I didn't know he was buying mine until I got an email from the KC Chiefs Season Ticket sales rep congratulating me on being a Season Ticket holder, and telling me "Kelly" took care of paying for my ST seat.

I mailed Kelly a check this week though, paying for my own seat. I can't afford to pay Kelly for the Season Ticket seat, MNF tickets through Chiefs Crowd...AND the 49er's too, so told Canada last week to take me off the list for 49ers tickets. At that time it was no big deal, as Canada and Chiefs Crowd wasn't doing the 49ers group tickets any longer with switching the official CC get together to MNF.

I'm still going to the 49er's game, but feasibly need to use the Season Ticket seat, rather than pay for an extra ticket I don't need now. The MNF is an exception, and I'm keeping my name on the list for CC MNF group tickets...as I want to be with Chiefs Crowd sharing in that important of a game especially. I wish I could afford to do the same with the 49er's game, but I just can't now with paying for the ST too.

Hey I just found this site, and I am super stoked. I grew up in KC and currently work for the Army in Hawaii. I am going to be back for my 10 year class reunion the following week, and I am trying to get tickets for the MNF game. I haven't been able to get to a game for almost 3 years, (two of which I was in Iraq). I would like to get involved with your trip and make a day of it. Please let me know. I would need 2.

if it wasn't for the espn story I never would have found this site.

Send me a PM and I will see if I can still add more onto our ticket order. I need your name and phone #. You wont have to give me any payment info or confidential information. All payments are made to Arrowhead staff. We are sitting in the lower level for $95 per seat (not sure if tax is included) I also have tickets for the Chiefs v 49ers Wee 3 at a discounted price if you or anyone is interested!! As far as hotels, we are gonna start working on the party plans and accomodations next!!

To everyone who will be attending the ChiefsCrowd Home Opener party!!

This invitation is open to anyone and everyone. I think we should put together one HUGE tailgate party. I have heard lots of people who are going to be at the game posting about tailgate party etc, does anyone want to get a big group together and have one big party? We did this a couple of years ago for the opener in 2008 and it was awesome. There were about 30 of us, but I think this year we could have a waaaay bigger group.

We would need to rely on some help from locals who have grills that they would be willing to bring and cook. We can all throw in for some food and cook up a storm. The last party we had was one of the best times I have ever had at Arrowhead and I would love to do it again.

I am also looking into rooms at the Holiday Inn Sports Complex. I would like to get them reserved ASAP. I think they go for around $100 a night. The hotel is across the street from Arrowhead (literally walking distance) If you need a room for that weekend let me know. If I can get a rough idea of how many rooms we are going to book I can look into getting us a discounted rate on rooms. The hotel is pretty nice, decent restaurant downstairs. Cold beer in the bar. There is a pool, hot tub and sauna as well. Anyways, that is all I can think of right now so let me know if u need a room!! :bananen_smilies046:

To everyone who will be attending the ChiefsCrowd Home Opener party!!

This invitation is open to anyone and everyone. I think we should put together one HUGE tailgate party. I have heard lots of people who are going to be at the game posting about tailgate party etc, does anyone want to get a big group together and have one big party? We did this a couple of years ago for the opener in 2008 and it was awesome. There were about 30 of us, but I think this year we could have a waaaay bigger group.

Yeah we are in. Let me know about the parking passes, I may pick one up. The quicker we can get together the better it will be. If there are people driving the best thing may be to meet up at say denny's just before, and then "convoy" over so we have multipule cars together and then we can make sure we have a large block of space. I don't know, but just an idea. I cant wait for the game. Its been three years since my last one,and that's three years too long!!!!

I know there is another post here for the tailgating but I made a comment that a couple years ago, I found the best way to get a big group of people parked together is to meet off the stadium at a specific time, and then drive in a convoy to the stadium, that way we can all be through the gates at the same time and be able to block off a bunch of spaces. If anyone has a good idea of where to meet or what time I can attempt to organize this. I will be coming in from Hawaii, but I am familiar with KC and a good central location would make this easy. Also, if you have the ability to bring a grill or a canopy or something let me know. This seems pretty early but the better we can organize this the better (bigger) we can get with the most limited ammount of time wasted at the game trying to "find" everyone else. Any ideas or help would be great.

I'm in with the Chiefs Crowd MNF group tickets, and fairly sure I'll be staying over the night of the game at the hotel if you can arrange the group deal Canada. I just need one room, Monday night.

I'll be at the 49er's game too, and plan on tailgating with those Chiefs Crowd friends attending, but I'll use the upper level Season Ticket seats for that game...due to financial feasibility. I'd love to sit among CC friends, but I can't afford to buy the tickets even at $39 when I have the upper level seat already.

I'll bring a variety of my homemade cookies, fudge, and peanut clusters to all Chiefs Crowd tailgating events...that's my standard, haha. I can additionally contribute bringing something else you may need too...just let me know! :)

As far as I know my Chiefs buddy Kelly will be here from Wisconsin for the MNF game. I assume he will schedule with his employer to be in KC that week working, & if so they'll provide him with a hotel room...he won't be staying at the same hotel as the rest of us. I don't think he'll be at the 49er's game, since it's so close to the MNF game, but I never know about him for sure, haha.

Well...Canada is organizing our Chiefs Crowd home opener tailgating event...MNF. As it is now, if enough interest is there...Canada is attempting to arrange a group discount hotel rate with the hotel directly East of Arrowhead Stadium. That hotel is within walking distance to Arrowhead, so many staying at that hotel won't be driving vehicles to Arrowhead.

A suggestion for those wanting to drive vehicles into Arrowhead, might be to meet up at that hotels parking lot.

You might already be aware of this, but the parking lot will fill quickly with tailgaters, especially with the home opener being MNF. It would be wise to have a 'convoy' of vehicles be prepared to enter Arrowhead as early as possible, when gates open. Once fans begin setting up their tents, grills, toss games, etc...it's next to impossible for even a single vehicle to drive through lanes between parking rows.

With this being the first MNF for the Chiefs in quite a while, the season opener as well...I'm assuming Arrowhead will open gates that morning, as they would if it was a Sunday game??? There likely will be fans wanting to make a day of it...tailgate most of the day, then attend the game that night.

Connie Jo

~Rutroh!~ It's a contest now! Who's more fun to tailgate with...Canada or Ryfo!? There's only one way for me to judge...you and Canada both have to be present at the same tailgating event...the 49er's game at Arrowhead! HA! :yahoo:

This is going to be a fun tailgate for sure. Especially with a 9:15 start time!

That would be 9:15 AM start time for our Chiefs Crowd annual tailgate gathering...correct?

Thats awesome you have a groupl of 16 coming for MNF!! The hotel you're speaking of I think is the same hotel Canada & others stayed at for the December 6th game against Denver last season. If so, that might be the same hotel many of us are staying at for the MNF game too, though not sure just yet.

Our friend & Chiefs Crowd member Ryfo is from Wisconsin too, but not sure he's coming for the MNF game, rather the 49er's later in September. I have a Chiefs buddy who's suppose to be coming for the MNF game, and he lives in Wisconsin, also driving in. Wisconsin appears to be well represented with Chiefs fans, haha.

Thanks for the posts all,

There is a Royals game at 7:05 on the chiefs home opener. I am not sure how that will effect the gates opening, or whatever. Normally the gates open 4 hours before the game I believe. The main reason for that is it allows time to tailgate, but not so much time that the majority of the fans are too drunk. I know 4 hours is enough time to get real drunk, but that was the explaination I received when I asked about the time the stadium would open. As of now, they are trying to fight the logistical elements with having a Royals game that will start during the "tailgating" time for the chiefs and get over after the chiefs game starts. Don't be surprised if they do not allow anyone into the parking lot until 5:00.

The hotel would be a great place to meet once we find out what time they will let us in. I know in the past it pays off to be lined up at the gate at least 30 minutes earlier than when they open. It is a mad dash into the stadium once it opens. If the gates open at 5:00 then we maybe should meet at the hotel parking lot about 4:00 and take about 15 mins or so to meet and greet. I am looking forward to the game, and hanging out with some real football fans!!!

If you have any other questions or concerns please let me know.

Eric

Yeah, I thought about allowing too much time to tailgate & their concern of controlling fan alcohol influence after I posted, as well as it being a work day. Many won't be able to tailgate until after work. I was thinking of 'Monday' as I would a Sunday game day, as this will be the first time I've attended MNF at Arrowhead in all the years I've been a Chiefs fan. I'm not accustom to Monday's being a game day, or games being on a work day for most, nor beginning at night, haha.

In reality, regardless of when gates open it's not gonna stop drunkeness, possibly slow it down for some, or delay...but I've not been to a game yet where a large number of fans weren't intoxicated before, during, & after the game. Alcohol is to NFL games what peanut butter is to jelly, haha.

I'm not a MLB fan, so didn't realize the Royals have a game on the same night as the Chiefs Season Opener MNF. Opening the gates at 5:00 for MNF at Arrowhead will be during peak time for those who are entering the sports complex to attend the Royals 7:05 game, as peak time for traffic into any stadium event is within the two hours before start time.

With it being MNF I would imagine the majority of Chiefs fans will begin piling into Arrowhead as soon as they get off work and gates open...that's gonna put the majority of fans attending the Royals game & Chiefs MNF entering the sports complex/stadiums at the same time! Heck, it can easily take over an hour to enter Arrowhead if getting caught & stuck in traffic a couple hours before a game...and that's without Royals game traffic at the same time!

I dunno, but I would think under the circumstances of the Royals and Chiefs games being the same night, it being MNF for the Chiefs...they would be better off to open gates to enter Arrowhead early in the afternoon, regardless of the tailgate-alcohol time factor, and it being a work day. Many may have the option to leave work early, or take off for a sick day, whatever. Either that or re-schedule the Royals game, HA!

I have been looking at some different accomodations that will hopefully suit everyones needs. I think the best choice as far as proximity to the stadium, price, and general cleanliness is going to be the Quality Inn on Noland Rd. It is two exits down the highway from the stadium.

QUALITY INN & SUITES - Independence MO 4200 South Noland Rd. 64055 Missouri (http://www.hotelplanner.com/Hotels/93726/Reservations-Quality-Inn-Suites-Independence-4200-South-Noland-Rd-64055)

I asked what rooms were were going to be based on people staying Sat, Sun and Mon night Sept 11-14. She gave me the following prices

King Bed - $77.99 $72.99 and $72.99
2 Queen - $82.99 $77.99 and $72.99

These prices include breakfast each morning. There is a flat screen TV and fridge in every room and a pool. She said they are OK with partying as long as it is kept respectful. They will allow BBQs and beer in the parking lot during the day. There are also several restaurants in the area and Bandanas BBQ is across the parking lot from the hotel.

They will allow BBQs and beer in the parking lot during the day. There are also several restaurants in the area and Bandanas BBQ is across the parking lot from the hotel.

Does that include stealing the no parking sign and bashing people in the head with it at wee hours of the morning? Just askin!

It will be interesting to see how many red jerseys are at the Royals game that are not Cardinals fans! I have talked to someone on this board that is interested in help cook, I can see if he can post on here. I am excited about meeting you guys on here and having a blast at the game. I assume more detailed meeting arrangements will be made as the time gets closer. Can you believe training camp starts in a little more than a month?

I have to discuss season tickets with my wife first Buffman. I sent her and email with the details you gave me, and I got no response.... In the end, I will get my way. However, if I don't end up getting my way, how much just for tickets for the home opener, in said sections that I am looking at season tix for.

As Buffman said, I have no problems helping with the food. I used the Chiefs games as ways to work on my BBQ, Practicing every week was great. I unfortunately got dragged into BBQ for large parties and charities, so I will be glad to help friends. I also have a tent, and two 6 foot long folding tables, and maybe a portable outhouse (TENT)....

I just have to get my tickets back from when I was a season ticket holder. Buffman is trying to hook me up with seats just accross the ailse from my old tix... It all depends on my wife.

Royals game is at 2:10? There was another thread discussing this issue, and someone said the Royals game was like at 7:10...maybe they looked at the time wrong, or I did, haha. Do you think it's going to create a fricken Interstate mess with both teams having games, even with the Royals in the afternoon...and the Chiefs is a MNF which creats even more interest???

I said in the other thread I felt the Chiefs should open gates early, making an exception for MNF significance...since it's been a while we've had MNF, the season opener as well! Allow fans to celebrate making a day out of it if they choose, it's also been a while since we've had much to celebrate about, hahaha. However, someone brought up the valid point that opening gates early encourages drinking too early, etc..

The Chiefs and Royals are looking at a combo package and the gates will be open early simply because there is no way to turn people away before the Royals game. The best scenario would be to go to the Royals game, then tailgate for the Chiefs. Since this Monday night game is the late one, some "rookies" will be passed out in the parking lot in the first quarter. If you party early, it would be great to take a nap in the Royal's Hyvee seats!

UGH! Party poopers! Stinks they won't open gates earlier! It makes no feasible sense to me at all, & people are either gonna drink early or not, they can't control that aspect. They've already lost control of drinking...cause many will be drinking at the Royals game!

KISS! 'Keep It Simple Stupid!' They're creating more problems for themselves, & traffic control...not allowing people in early. If the Royals game is over around 6 ish, Chiefs gates open at 3 hrs before, that's 5 PM...that's only an hour difference...traffic on the Interstates & Blue Ridge are gonna be a nightmare! It's putting more than normal trying to enter/leave both stadiums during the same time periods.

It won't be possible to clear traffic out of the connecting Royals stadium in one hour. If gates open 3 hrs before...I think MNF is 8 CST...puts gates opening at 5 PM...BAD...that's during 4-6 peak rush hour traffic on I-70. Royals game over around 6 ish is the worst timing possible too...as many who plan on attending MNF will begin heading to the stadium as soon as possible after they get off work! Between 4-6 PM is major rush hours!
I-70 can be bumper to bumper from downtown to well past the stadiums just with people getting off work...no stadium factor. I-435 & I-70 connect is jambed up during rush hours traffic too. Many people take both to get to the sports complex...Interstate backs up without a rush hour factor on Sundays. Throw in the MNF traffic factor...Royals game traffic exiting the stadium parking...rush hour work traffic...what a mess that's gonna be on I-70 & 435!

If you're needing hotel reservations I'd make them asap if you want as close as possible to Arrowhead. Thanks to our friend Canada...some of us working together to organize our annual Chiefs Crowd tailgating get together, have already booked as a small group at the Quality Inn on Noland Rd, East of the Sports Complex. I've copied/pasted the info he posted a while back below...if you're interested in that hotel.

Keep in mind, this is an NFL MNF game, there will be major sports media coming in from all over the globe to cover highlights. They'll be booking rooms close to the stadium too, if they've not already.

Canada also posted he bought Royals tickets for $7.00...well worth that to gain access to the parking lots early, hoping to set up Chiefs Crowd tailgating early of course, haha. You might want to check now & then for updated info in the thread stickied related to our annual CC tailgating event. :)

Here's the hotel info I mentioned in the previous post that Canada posted:
