Ill admit that i have watched other teams like the pats and cowgirls sign all there picks with plenty of time before camp. Then there was us without berry or our number twos or threes. But that all changed yesterday. Chiefs signed mccluster, arena, asmoah, so all thats left is Mr. Berry. Faiders just signed mcclain so were waiting on bradford and suh so we can see what the top five picks will be priced at. So i hope it happens soon come on berry get to camp

I just hope that he is there for the start of camp that will be a big help for him and the team.

This should happen today or tomorrow and I cannot wait to see who posts it first on Chiefs Crowd!

Report: Chiefs, Eric Berry 'Close' To A Deal - Arrowhead Pride (http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2010/7/29/1594519/report-chiefs-eric-berry-close-to)

Let's get it done! If we get him signed before other first rounders start signing, I have no doubt in my mind it's because Berry told his agent to just get it done so he can get in camp.

Haley seems pretty confident it will happen before the first practice. I was surprised to see he was so confident, so there must be something in the works close to being done. :chiefs:

It would be great to get this done before training camp.

Unfortunately, his agent has refuted this:

Personally, I think that's just sports agent pride/arrogance seeping through. They love long hold outs because it feeds the perception that they drive a hard bargain and are better at getting top dollar for their guys.

I agree that it's the agents holding all this up. Berry doesn't seem like the kind of guy to be greedy, though I'm sure he's going to love his paycheck.

I heard he is close. Just wish it would happen before camp.

Sanchez was last years 5th pick so it makes it tough on the Chiefs to pay the appropriate escalated percentage because Sanchez was a QB. We need Trent williams to sign with the Skins before anything can happen with Berry so that Pioli knows the ceiling.

What about seeing what Earl Thomas gets? He was another safety drafted not too long after Berry IIRC. Perhaps once he signs that can lead to seeing what kind of deal Berry can get.

Trent Williams the fourth pick signed last night with Washington. The 5th slot is more clear and I bet Berry signs within the next three days if not today.

I'd love for him to get into the first camp practice this afternoon.

...I saw him getting off the plane today.....in my dreams.

But I believe he will be in camp on time.

He's already late.

Today only half counts. They spend a good part of the day just seeing who is in shape to practice and work on conditioning.

If he is there today, one day late is okay.

If he's already in KC, he can make it. Practice starts in an hour and a half. Plenty of time to get to St. Joe and throw on a practice jersey real fast.

I hate to compare it to the moment in Hard Knocks where LJ signed his contract while practice was going on, and then suited up and ran onto the field. But that moment got me really pumped up when I saw it. The difference is that Berry only officially held out for 1 day, and LJ was sitting at home playing XBox for what seemed like forever.
