Here are some areas Kansas City needs to focus on after a 16-14 victory over Cleveland:

Recap: The Chiefs are quickly becoming of the darlings of the early season. For the second straight week, Kansas City did enough to hold off an opponent. Last week, it was with a defensive stand against San Diego. In Week 2, it was with a huge first down on fourth-and-1 that allowed it to run out the clock. Kansas City is 2-0 for the first time in five years and it is alone in first place in the AFC West for the second straight week.

Biggest area to fix: passing offense. The Chiefs couldn’t close out drives against the Browns. Kansas City’s 16 points were via an interception return and three field goals. Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8644) was better in Week 2 than he was during a rainstorm in Week 1. But he has to find a way to throw into the end zone.

Biggest area to build on: defense. Kansas City is playing terrific defense. It has allowed only 14 points in each of the first two games. It is making big plays and is attacking opposing offenses. New defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel is definitely making a difference.

What to watch for: The Chiefs will need the crowd at New Arrowhead Stadium to be as loud during their second home game as it was in the opener against San Diego. The Chiefs need a sell-out crowd against San Francisco. If the Chiefs can start 3-0, it could be the beginning of something very big in Kansas City.
