So in week 7, Kansas City Chiefs matchup is the 3-3 Jacksonville Jaguars. Easy win, right? Well, a few weeks ago, the Indianapolis Colts thought so before losing 31-28 to the Jags in week 4. It would seem, however, that Kansas City may have a substantially better match-up with that Jags than the Colts did. At the time, Indianapolis was giving up major yardage on defense in the running game, which Jacksonville, with Maurice Jones-Drew, took whole advantage of. Jacksonville does not have that same match-up, with Kansas City giving up only 90.8 yards/game on the ground, 5th overall in the NFL. Kansas City is able to counter that with the ability to produce opportunity on the ground, putting up an average of 164.6 yards/game, 1st overall in the NFL.

Jacksonville has had Kansas City’s number in the last decade, winning 4 out of the 6 match-ups. Let’s be honest though, who hasn’t had Kansas City’s number recently? They won 4 games last year and 2 the year before that. However, times, they are a-changin in Kansas City, and this year things are different. Looking to capitalize on a poor defense in Jacksonville’s as well as looking to get after a quarterback in Todd Bouman, who hasn’t started a game since 2005, Kansas City is looking to go 3-0 at home for the first time since 2004. Here’s looking at Kansas City’s defense to come up big against a team that will probably run the ball all day with their star Jones-Drew and looking for the Kansas City offense to continue their upward trend against a shaky defense. Kansas City should be 4-2 and sitting atop their division for another week after this Sunday. Here’s hoping for a nice home blowout. Let’s go Chiefs!
