This was in a written on a Raider Forum, by a raider fan.....

I was listening to a very popular radio show in KC. And they're saying "the only thing Raider fans at the end of the day can hang there hat on, is that they're the most feared fanbase.". But then he goes on rants about that that is all untrue. He said that because of all the blackouts, Raider fans and the blackhole are just the same as everybody else in the division. He goes on saying that the blackhole is all over hyped.
And then Chiefs fans start calling in and start saying that they've been to the blackhole and its not bad at all and agree with what the guy on the radio is saying!

Now.. this Sunday, all the Raider fans that are going to the game should shut these KC Q***** up! Let them all know that the Raider Nation and the blackhole are still the most feared people and place to be! Throw some batteries at players! Spill some beer on some KC fans! Its all good ;)
Lets just put away all the doubt, and remind everyone that the NATION aint nothin to F with!

Ummm, just for sake of clarification, is that a quote or is that you saying this?

Oh, BTW, I really could care less what a Raider fan thinks of us. What would one expect on a BB Dedicated to the Raiders?

In all honesty its one d bag on a raider forum. I read that post earlier today, there is as many raider fans telling the OP that if they saw him doing anything physical like that the raider fans will take care of him themselves.

I would venture a guess that the true fan base would like to see the physical crap this guy is promoting become a thing of the past.

I had friends that went to a Chiefs vs Raiders game many years ago out in Oakland. They said they were scared for their lives and had plenty of batteries thrown at them. That kind of crap needs to stop.

I agree with you. Yes, the Raiders historically have some very violent & disrespectful fans, but so does Denver, and Philiadelphia, others. I think the Eagles are considered to have the worst fan base in the NFL. Those are the fans that draw the attention, especially from media at times, but they don't represent the entire fan base.

Anyway, I have a couple friends who are Raider fans, from that area, and they're good people. I feel bad for them that bad apples have given their entire fan base a bad reputation like this guy quoted above. I was happy to read where many Raider fans said they would prevent any of their own from doing such.

When I attended the Season Opener in 2009 against the Raiders...there was a sqaubble between a Raider fan from Oakland and a Chiefs fan, and in all honesty...both were guilty. I felt badly for the Raider fans little boys however, having to listen to horrible (Hispanic) racist remarks being made by some Chiefs fans nearby. I also felt horrible watching those two little boys being escorted by Sheriff deputies along with their father out of Arrowhead. The Chiefs fan was escorted out as well, as he should have been, in all honesty.

My rival team friends and I enjoy smack talking, but we do so knowing it's in fun, and keep it respectful, as it should be.

There everywhere Buffalo as well I go when Chiefs come to town because I live close but take a ton of abuse no batteries yet...Don't get me wrong I am as big of a fan of football as anyone else but I think the sport brings these fans out more so than the other sports.

Yep, I've heard stories about how horrible Buffalo fans can be too, as well as Indy's. Some fan bases, such as Oakland & Philly have a larger number of negative & violent fans. We're very fortunate as Chiefs fans to have a fan base of which the majority is very respectful.

I did some research once on the cities/states with the most violent fan bases...of which Philly and Denver were among the top. In fact, many articles noted the entire state of Colorado for having violent & radical sports fans from the high school level, to college, to pro. They've had many riots relating to their sports teams. :(

PS: Gangs are often tied to the most violent of fan bases also. This is true with Denver, Philly, & Oakland.

connie, i have been to buffalo, new york[giants & jets], baltimore, washington, pittsburgh, and philly many times. all cities had good and bad fans, philly has more of the bad than the others but based on what i have heard from those that have been to oakmont and philly the raders were much worse. most fans are upset when they lose but those that are mean and nasty when their team wins big are the problem.

Exactly! Can't judge the whole fan base based upon a few idiots. If all Chief fans were judged based upon chiefplant or whatever that forum is, it would do the members of this forum a disservice.

While you are Chief fans and I despise the Chiefs most members here are supporters of their team and not just idiots wearing the team colors.

I can respect that, don't respect the fans on Chiefplanet or the idiots who claim to be Raider fans but advocate B.S. like throwing batteries at fans of other teams.

I'm an Eagles fan and I can tell you, that the reason our fans have a repuation for being rowdy was because for years, we had a terrible stadium so the tickets were cheap, which allowed the knuckleheads to come to games and drink beer and harass others.

Eventually, our fans had such a bad reputation that Eagles fans (like myself) who just wanted to go to games and have a good time with their families were forced to stay home and watch on TV, because we didnt wanna have to deal with the knuckleheads. To be honest, I was one of thousands of people who felt this way.

There was never any gang connections here, just bad management and knuckleheads.

In recent years, fan behavior has become much better due to the new stadium, but occasionaly the knuckleheads come out in full for certain games (Normally Primetime Games) and act stupid.

I can contend, that our fanbase is the most misrepersented and misunderstood fanbase in all of sports.

Based on your experience which I see the raider connection too, this weekend will be "interesting". The raiders had two for one tickets to try and sell the game out.

I was on the fader nation site and read a post that a chiefs fan on some chiefs site or fourm was declaring war, each post after that from a fader fan was bashing us...now the f^cktard did not give a link so I think he was trying to get fans mad at us, we all know they are to stupid to do their own research so I am sure most believe it.

I don't disagree that all teams have bad & good fans, some teams just tip the scale one way or another more than others. According to the articles I read when researching...Oakland and Denvers most violent fans have in recent years been connected to gangs, which don't represent a typical fan base.

Honestly, it's been a few years since I did the research, of which involved my reading many articles on line others doing the actual research had written. Many of the articles I read were human behavior studies of sport fans. Others were crime statistic articles linking gangs to sports. I do remember Oakland & Denver both having groups of fans linked to gangs, but can't say for sure the articles mentioned Philly fans linked to gangs. I do however, remember Philly fans being noted in most every study article as being among the most violent. As you said though, things have changed with a new stadium, & the articles I read were prior to a new stadium.

As far as 'cheap tickets' making attendance possible for the "knuckleheads"...the flip side is when tickets are expensive enough to keep the rif raf out...it too prevents families from attending games. How many of us can realistically afford $100 ticket times however many kids are in the family? Then there's $22 for parking, $5-7 for a damn soft drink...$5 for hot dog! It's really extortion, cause you have no choice but to spend the money if thirsty. There aren't even water fountains...you have to buy bottled water now.

The NFL by law states if a game isn't sold out 72 hours before kickoff it will be blacked out. Well, Al Davis asked the NFL for a time extention, which they gave to him, and the game did sell out with the two for one offer. That will bring the rif raf, as Spac mentioned above with "cheap tickets" creating the rif raf problem in Philly. I read tomorrows game against our Chiefs is the first game that won't be blacked out in the past 12 Raider home games.

Those are just new baby rivalries in the NFL. This is going to be the 100th time the Chiefs and Raitards hook up!! Time is partly what has made this rivalry so great!! Dont get me wrong, Indy NE and Bal Pit are good, but they dont have 50 years of history behind them!! :bananen_smilies046:

This is exactly the kind of fan that would cheer when an opposing player gets injured. Raiders fans are the worse, and watching this game, shows.
