why's that? seems pretty fair to me

A coin toss deciding who gets the ball...and the first team to score wins....that's BS

Well coin toss is fair, what other way to decide who gets the ball?

Also I can somewhat understand first team score wins because in college i think the other team gets a possesion at a chance to answer, but i think this is sothe OT doesnt drag on for a long time

iratefan
11-07-2010, 07:58 PM
weve got two out on the left with OPEN SLANT PLAYS - and cassel never looks at EITHER of them. this is why Cassel is NOT a franchise QB. get rid of em.

The Raiders were penalized for over 130 yards and we still could not beat them. What a joke!

This game had some of the worst officiating I've ever seen. How many officials does it take to figure out that it isn't fourth and goal, but first and goal? How many does it take to figure out that if you fumble the ball, and the other team recovers it and then fumbles it, that the recovering team should get a new set of downs? After the officiating team blew the call against the Raiders, it was like they made it their mission to make sure the Raiders came out on top. Ghost holding calls on a guy that never touched the person he supposedly held, and absolutely no help in terms of booth reviews.... uggg. We lost this game for ourselves with our poor game plan (best rushing team in the league..and we pass constantly? Why?) and with key drops (Bowe in particular...could have sealed it) but the officiating, even though it hurt both teams, still drives me nuts. As with every week, I have to ask: Can we get rid of Cassel yet? He can't make the easy throws, he can't make the difficult throws, and he most certainly can't scramble. With Brodie in, we could get back to running the ball without feeling the need to keep Matt's confidence up by throwing the deep ball on third and one (thanks Charlie). This is go time for us. We still have the weakest schedule in football, the best rushing game, and a defense (sans Carr..) capable of getting offenses off of the field. If we can use this week to finally get it in our heads that we aren't a passing team, we might have a chance at the playoffs. /ramble

That's because the Chiefs had 100 yds in penalties themselves

How the refs messed up as bad as they did a few plays after th Moeaki TD was called back, I'll never know

Chiefster

The refs were bad for both teams; we can't hang this loss on the refs IMO.

Having thus said; that was some of the very worst officiating I have, in my entire life, ever seen.

Why not just continue the game? Like you would from the 3rd quarter to the 4th quarter? Play an entire 5th quarter. No coin flip. None of that "first team that scores- wins" crap. :feedback:

the officiating was horrible and i can't understand why they reviewed on obvious catch and then not review the catch prior to their fg when the ball was between his legs when he went down.

That game was...Hmm, well...what can I say?

I feel that both the Chiefs and Raiders have inflated their records by winning easy games against terrible teams.

They both play an outdated style of football (running game) and I feel would quickly crumble playing against a top-tier team.

If you think Oakland or KC is going anywhere in the post season, you're kidding yourself.

I really like that idea. End of the fifth quarter still keep the same tie rule.

I agree with this. Unfortunately, TV scheduling might have something to do with the current OT setup -- not sure though.

Considering that I would have missed most of this game had the Jets game went into triple overtime, I believe there is lot more to this than anyone could fathom on first blush.
