after DJs extension...when do you think we give hali his? this team already knows from experience not to get rid of its premier pass rusher...you can argue that this defense gets noticably worse if there was no hali...

apparently hali has mentioned to his agent he would like to retire as a chief, and the agent and the chiefs organization have agreed to wait on negotiations...as i asked before, do you think we extend him during the season, or wait until the season is over?

he will be a FA in 2011 btw

NOrmally I would say get it done before free agency starts. In Hali's case, I'm not sure it matters since we would definitely franchise tag him. Due to the likely work stoppage, it makes more sense for his camp to want the deal done now.

they need to lock him. he is leading the division with 8 sacks. Hali is a beast. like to see him retire as a chief!

I could see this guy have an 18 sack season, If thats the case his stock will rise, and I'm sure will be harder to sign in the off season. I say sign him,WE NEED THIS GUY, the sooner the better, unless we can get 2 first, 6 seconds and 8 thirds.............. In other words, lets NOT go there!

It's already been reported it has been agreed on by both parties, they will not not talk contract until after the season. Looks like a smart move by Hali.
IMO I believe he will remain a Chief. If we can find him some help rushing the passer, he will be a terror.

Yeah, if we get another DE like Hali, we could be a very scary defense.

Yea Hali is coming around. he still needs to get much better finishing sacks, he swings and misses a lot still. (not nearly as bad as last year though)
