Is there any possible way that Marty would ever come back to the Chiefs? Do you think he has bad feelings toward Peterson and do you think Peterson would have the balls to eat crow and hire him back?

Well, we did bring Gun back after a pretty messy ordeal when he was the head coach.

I would take him back in a heart beat!!!

If you do a little research, I bet the avg. record for coaches is right around 50%. I know Marty is about 5 and 12 or so but something to be considered is that he has been losing to guys like Montana, Brady ect. Superstar QB's. Marty has NEVER had a primetime QB in his prime. He has been one of the best coaches in the league's history. Especially with nobody of any stature to QB his squad. Like I said, I would take him back in a second. Remember last year? 14-2 aint too shabby!!!!!

There are a few good coaches in the unemployment line this year. I like Marty but it would be sweet to get Cowher or Parcells, also.

They are talking about Marty right now on ATH.

Saying he looks like a hall of fame coach.

How about having HERM be defensive head coach, and Marty running the team until the playoffs.

Then I come in to coach!

Can't argue with them there, but it's not like it's his fault.

Just a question. Marty or Herm? They are definetly not the same!!!!! Can't believe anyone would actually say that but.......

Let's see hmmm.....10, 12 wins a season and playoffs virtually every year without question or........HERM??? You make the call!

I wouldn't want Marty back, although he is great in the regular season. He seems to play not to lose in those playoff games. Parcells is a definite "no" as far as I'm concerned. I don't think players really like playing for him. I'd take Cowher in a second though.

Herm and Marty both have an excellent track record of making the playoffs. Unfortunately, both guys have a horrible playoff record as well.

i would take marty cowler or parcells in a heartbeat.

parcells would be good for a young team. he teaches discipline. and at this point, where the chiefs are now with their coaching situation, i think even the veterans would play behind parcells.

I respectfully disagree. He didn't exactly do wonders in Dallas - although he drafted well, I'll give him that. Also players these days don't respond well to the guys who coach with an iron fist IMO. Just ask the Giants.

I hate to say it, cuz I want to keep him for the 49ers, but if I'm the Chiefs I go after Mike Singletary as head coach. He's brilliant, would keep the momentum for your defensive improvement, but bring a smashmouth attitude to the team as a whole. The quote I saw from Waters after the game is very disconcerting. An O-lineman saying we need to pass to open up the run is way too wrong. Of course this may be the truth, but it displays an attitude issue...a good O-line has the attitude of "let us punch them in the mouth...run, run, RUN..."

I think he said it because of 2 reasons.

1. He is sick of getting his *** handed to him along with the rest of the line.
2. He believes this is the only way to win because he and his fellow line mates can't get the job done.

Very disheartening to say the least! If that's the way he feels, have a seat on the bench and let a back up that is dying to get in the game and can probably not make any holes and get the QB killed as well as you can get in the game and give it a shot!!!!

I was all for the guy last year hoping he could even BUILD on the monster that Dick left us.

I know he got screwed the first week by Trent getting concussed, but it is because of his style of game play.

Do you think there could be a reason he had 4 injured QB's the year before he came here?

He doesn't CARE about the offense, it seems like they are a nuisance to him the way he talks.

If a fighter is constantly moving backwards they can't effectively attack their opponent.

It works the same way on offense.

A conservative offense gets QB's KILLED!!!

Marty was stupid enough to actually make a commercial making fun of himself on local tv for some car dealership where he was the only fan in the stadium and his line was to stand up and yell "RUN IT UP THE MIDDLE!"

Making fun of himself.

We delivered a piano to his house when he lived here and he was about as rude as a human could be.

Treated us like we were second class citizens.

We had Marcus Allen, I think he drafted Gonzo (help anyone), he made bad QB decisions (Frank Gannon went on to the Superbowl with the Raiders and he lost his job after winning all kinds of games for the Chiefs when the stinkin' Elvis Grbak came back from an injury, just like last year when Trent came back after Damon won all those years.)

I became a Chiefs fan during Martyball.. but don't want that time back. Was laughing my a.. off when the dolts fired him. Can't stand Marty never could, loved Vermeil, so happy when he left STL and became the Chiefs head coach, but... dont know if it was the timing or the one sided all offense team, but as sad as it was when he retired it was kinda a relief, thought getting Herm was great, hopefully he will read some post on the internet and step up and bring the offense back, they say defense wins games ... but even the best defense cant win every game if they are on the field all day and there are no offensive points scored. To make a long story short, I believe Herm-Hater may be my long lost brother, Hate Marty, Not liking Herm (was hoping the streaker .. (thinking maybe Canada? lol) would tackle and knock Herm & Solari out of the game. Not quite a Herm Hater .. yet but he is on a short lease. My top 3 coaches... COWHER COWHER COWHER ... um really top 3 Cowher (used to be the Chiefs D-Coordinator not a far stretch) Kirk Ferentz (Iowa Hawkeyes NCAA,) and even though I HATE the Illini (live very near Champaign home of the Illini) Illinois coach (not Ron Turner) but Ron Zook... Could be a great coach if he could do the recruiting and scouting in the NFL that he does in the NCAA. There are others but that is a short list. The list though would NEVER include.. Marty, Andy Reid, Belichick, or Coughlin.... Here is a thought .. bring back Al Saunders as Head Coach.. let him fire Solari and bring in someone to learn from him.

Bring back Vermeil to run the O and Marty to run the D.

That should solve all our problems.

I have always said the perfect coach for this team is Dick Schottenheimer.

I got tired of Marty but liked him. Marty did seem to learn to let the OC have more control in SD.

I like Cowher but I feel a change next round is needed. A thorough cleansing with the Chiefs, if it does not work this time around.

I noticed CP mentioned and bragged about Jared Page being form UCLA last night but he seemed to forget to mention Medlock? :D

And for what its worth, after the game Gibbs said that he took over the play calling and that was all on him. Also no timeouts and had Portis on the bench.

Should see one of the skins boards they are saying this isnt the Chiefs Offense and that Gibbs should step back and let Saunders run it.
