Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (http://javascript<b></b>:newWin('http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?playerId=10467')) was held scoreless in Sunday's odd win over the Denver Broncos (http://javascript<b></b>:newWin('http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/den/denver-broncos')), not just from a touchdown perspective (he had scored a touchdown in seven straight games) but from a fantasy perspective, too. Bowe didn't record a single catch, which has to befuddle his fantasy owners. So should we call this a harbinger of doom for fantasy's top wide receiver (http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/leaders?&seasonTotals=true&seasonId=2010&slotCategoryId=4) or just one of those strange days?

I watched some of that Chiefs-Broncos game, and I'll be honest, with the way the Chiefs were controlling the line of scrimmage with their terrific two-man running attack I wasn't surprised quarterback Matt Cassel (http://javascript<b></b>:newWin('http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?playerId=8644')), who we also liked for Week 13, didn't look Bowe's way much. Cassel didn't have an awful game statistically, finishing with 11 standard fantasy points, but his leading receivers were running back Thomas Jones (http://javascript<b></b>:newWin('http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?playerId=2138')) and tight end Tony Moeaki (http://javascript<b></b>:newWin('http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/fantasy?playerId=13289')), who combined for 12 of Cassel's 31 targets and 108 of his 196 passing yards. Bowe saw only three targets, but I doubt the Chiefs care, since they won.

Champ Bailey is one of the best CBs in the league and shadowed him all day. Cassel barely looked in his direction, and wisely so. This is a one week blip that won't continue.

I think yesterday was for sure a set back for Bowe. Bailey is a great CB but A great Wr what bowe has shown that he can be a times doesn't get shutout. Lets just hope he makes the bolts pay for being shutout.

As long as the Chiefs won without him. show the rest of the league that it is not just Bowe that wins games, but a team effort

Can't panic because of one week. We just got seven amazing weeks out of him.

I think we over looked denver. thinking of Sandieg0. Dwayne Bowe could do nothing against Champ Bailey that is scarey. I no Bailey is awsome but shutting Bowe down for the hole game Come on. I believe in Dwayne but if he is going to be great he has to take guys like Baily to school. We will see if he can rebound Sunday.
We will need Bowe if we plan to make any noise.

I agree I believe in Bowe. He will be back. Would someone tell Haley to take the points when the are there. I no a touchdown would be nice but lets take our three and play on.

I hope not. He only had a handful of passes at him and when Cassel saw he was not getting separation he rarely gave more than a glance as his check-down. The game was just tight in my opinion. What you gonna do, it would've been nice to blow out Denver, maybe next year.

EXACTLY!

I've had so many people tell me that without Bowe Cassel wouldn't be able to do anything and would be shut down. Well Bowe wasn't a factor and Cassel still threw for almost 200 yards! That shut a bunch of people up! haha

Like I said, it was one week. When we played IN Denver, he had 13 catches for 186 yards and 2 TD.

Just wasn't his week, I guess.

no need to worry about Bowe, he'll catch a few more td's, its just one bad game, really bad game.....i am a little concerned about those 3 easy picks we dropped that may have turned that game into an easy win. we have dropped a lot of those this year it seems.

Matt Cassel is starting to go through his progressions so he is starting to beable to hit other recievers than just Bowe. He is getting better right before our eyes and I hope he just keeps it up. I wouldn't worry about Bowe its only been one week. Look at Roddy White for Atlanta two weeks ago he had maybe one or two catches but he still is the best WR in the league this year. So lets hope that Bowe can come out this Sunday and tear it up.:drunkhb:

While I would have liked those they're not receivers for a reason...

I saw 3 passes to Bowe. 2 over thrown, and 1 he had it but didn't get it..that should of been DPI but they ruled OPI

Bowe was double teamed the entire game, and not only double teamed, it was done with one of the best corners in the league.

This just shows how much we need a legit #2 receiver. Take two guys to cover Bowe and we will kill you with our other Receiver, because they were in man to man most of the game.

whatwasthat?

bowe didnt quit...he finished all his routes and held all his blocks on every play that i could tell...this was very promising considering this was the first time in a while he hasnt had a big game...his head was still in the game despite his lack of production

can you say that would have happened in the past?

Exactly, Bowe is not a seperation receiver, with his size, he is better duking it out with a corner. We need a speedster to stretch the defense a little more.

Actually there was one play that had me befuddled. Cassel was clearly going long and in Bowe's vacinity, but Bowe was no where to be found.

Somewhere there was some confusion on that play and we have seen that kind of thing before. The body language of both Cassel and Bowe suggested it was a miscue on Bowe's part yet again.

I just wonder sometimes if the guy is all that smart, or if he has a memory issue.

If it is the play I think it is, Cassel was just throwing it away after he already started his motion and realized it was covered. He threw it where no one could reach it.

D-Bowe was an honor roll student at LSU I'm sure he's not a stupid person. Why all the blame on Bowe maybe it was Cassel's fault, or maybe Cassel was just throwing ball away.

The pass that you were talking about Matt Cassel was just throwing it away because Bailey was all over Bowe. So he Threw it down the field where nobody was going to catch it.

Really dude? He's making fun of Bowe when Bowe apologized about veterans bringing girls into town early in the season. Bowe said he'd like to apologize to the Clark family instead of the Hunt family. Maybe you have some memory issues??

I was just making a joke. I like bowe. Obviously he did not take speech to earn that honor roll. He should avoid interviews and work on not dropping the ball. I could care less for anything else he does off the field.

Yes, I did pay for a diploma.

No I just don't like how it's cool now to S on people for no reason. "Hey he's a rich athlete, who care if I S on him right?" Why is it cool to dump on someone who's successful? Is it jealousy or what? Because Bowe definitely earned everything he has and I'm sure he grew up with far less then any of you haters.

Really, That is what you got out of my joke I am jealous of his success. Really!!!!! I mean you didn't think I was hating on him for his race or religion or maybe his long hair, his tatoos, or for dropping balls that could have cost us games, or even for the actual failed public speakings making him look like an idiot. Or maybe he spends to much time Face booking with Connie Jo....

If I really hated him for his success. There we be a lot more people in this world to hate on before Duane Bowe.

Everytime the guy opens his mouth to the media, he sounds like an idiot and if that earns him an Honor Roll status at LSU. I should have went to LSU. It may have taken me 4 years ito get my degree instead of the 10 years it took because I dragged it out by working full time and going to school part time.

As I said, I could care less what he does during his own time. When he is on the field. I do care, and I like Bowe. Not so much after the Indy game, but I got over that.
