We've got Matt Cassel (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/1659/matt-cassel) news.
The Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/kansas-city-chiefs) quarterback was back at practice but not doing much, according to multiple Twitter reports. Soren Petro tweets that Cassel was in sweats "doing very little (http://twitter.com/theprogramkc/status/13270833107574785)". Kent Babb of the KC Star tweets a photo of Cassel (http://twitter.com/kentbabb/status/13271205800837120)standing next to Brodie Croyle (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/2361/brodie-croyle), who is wearing the yellow quarterback jersey.
So this means....?
Todd Haley said this week that a player would have to practice in some form or fashion to be available on Sunday. Is this enough to qualify as a practice?
The Chiefs will declare on Friday afternoon whether Cassel is out, doubtful, questionable or probable. Listing him as doubtful would all but assure he's not playing on Sunday. Listing him as questionable would leave the door open.
If one NFL team physician's opinion means anything, Cassel won't be playing. Peter King of SI.com (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/peter_king/12/10/brett-favre-ryan-fitzpatrick/1.html) reports one team medic (not on the Chiefs we assume) told King it would be "sheer negligence" if Cassel plays on Sunday.

Haveing had that surgery myself I don't think he will be playing Sunday. I can understand why he was not doing much. I know that I wasn't.

No way is he playing. Just have faith in our team. They will play hard and make us proud.

they should list him as probable just to screw up the bolts plans. then throw in Croyle on game day. is that mean or what ????

After reading on places like espn that if Cassel was to play that the dolts D should TRY to do permanent damage...absolutely not. Heck, I say list him as the starter, trot him out there for the first play, get him under center and have him call a time out and THEN put in Croyle.

I'm glad that the Chiefs are atleast listing him as doubtful because if they actually threw him in to play then that would tell me that they are more worried about winning then somebodys health. I do like how all week long they have been screwing with the Chargers by not telling anybody what Cassel was going to do.

after saying that it just came to me that there really isnt that much a D has to do to game plan for Croyle or Cassel. It would be a lot more effective if we had a running QB as a back up but they already said in the beginning of the week that they were going to stack the line of scrimmage with 8 men in the box and play man to man.

If the Chargers do that , they will lose. Brodie will probably be a little nervous at first, but will be fine after that.

I would love the Chiefs to get back to doing a lot of screens because with our 3 headed monster with Charles, Jones,Mccluster I think they could really do a lot of damage to the Chargers D

I've been wondering why we aren't running more screens myself.
Brodie could surprise people throwing the deep ball. He is pretty good in that area.

I'm pretty sure Haley and Weis are sitting down with Croyle and saying hey look don't try and do to much because we can't afford to lose you because we already have one QB out. So unless Croyle really has to run I think Croyle will be thinking pass first before running.

Croyle IS a running QB

I just looked up Brodie's stats and since he has been in Kansas City he has only rushed 10 times for 15 yards so I don't think we can really call Croyle a running QB

Ain't that the truth, it was hard watching that clip and seeing the Oline collapse time and time again.
