why would any nfl coordinator go back to college as a coordinator after having a great year that may lead to a head coaching nfl job??? is not that like a step down?

I think that he wants to be a head coach in College again for some reason.

My thinking is that he wants to go back to the College game to prove that he can indeed do it. I think he was let down with how Noter Dame went so he wants to give it anther shot.
