The Browns just cut Rogers.

depends on the leg injury, if he can get healthy for next season that would be a great pick up

That would be nice if we could pick him up and he stays healthy but the Chiefs better act fast IMO

I dunno if they'll bring him in or not. He's a good player but just not sure he's the right 53. Constantly hurt, out of shape, and the gun thing in the airport. I doubt he's a Chief in 2011.

Agreed..

If they take a look, I would think it would be a 1year deal, on a try out basis. He's getting up there in age so he doesn't have a lot of years left (10 seasons).

The only way I think they sign him is on a 1 year deal, and this would allow them to draft a NT in let's say round 3 and groom him to succeed Rogers. It would allow us to look at LB/WR2/O-line with our picks in round 1 and 2.

If he can play like Wilfork then I would pick him up in a heart beat and let him play 1st and 2nd down and let him rest on passing situations 3rd downs

I think adding him would be great. There isn't any prototypical NTs at the 21rst pick and that position will take time to adapt. I say add rodgers... Rotate him edwards and smith. Draft maybe powe in the third and let him learn.

I think he would be great for depth if he can come cheap. But he doesn't play the NT very well. In cleveland, they moved him to DE in the 3-4 pretty quickly. He's more of a 4-3 DT pass rush specialist and has garnered a lot of comparison to Haynesworth's fit in the Redskins' 3-4. If he comes to KC, He will situationally play NT, maybe in the nickel, but I think he'd be best used as a DE in our system.

But I do believe there is a dominant true NT in the draft, and I'm fairly certain he would be available with our 21st pick. Phil Taylor is a beast. He has potential to be a vince wilfork, bj raji type of player.

I agree with you entirely. One way or another we have to get bigger and stronger on the DL and OL.
