You know what, I don't really recall him making a good play last year that made me say, Glad he is on our team. I think he is probably physically done, and it may be better for this team to upgrade through youth.

He did some decent work getting everyone lined up though.

In particular at Indy when he had his usual ankle sprain as the colts entered the red zone, Studebaker had the deer in the headlights body language. I'll give Andy some credit though, it was Manning at home.

Physically I agree he is near if not at the end of playing at the highest level but his knowledge will be missed if he does not play for us thie year.

Vrabel came in and did what he was supposed to do for the last two years, provide veteran leadership and coaching to this young defense. If he decides to retire and go into coaching full time, then I wish him the best.

His real productive days are behind him, and he is a free agent this year. Chances are the Chiefs may not have resigned him anyway.

He is supposed to retirement today and announce his Defensive coaching position with the Buckeye's. I thought they said the press conference was supposed to be today at 10.

The best way to learn things is actually doing them. He was preventing that by taking up their playing time. While he may be coaching them on the side, there is no way for them to apply his teachings unless he was a coach only. I believe in the two years he was here, he infused his work ethic on and off the field in other veterans on this team allowing them to continue his routines.

Andy Studebacker learned the most form Vrabel. Now he gets to apply those teachings and learn new things on his own.
