More Details On Jonathan Baldwin-Thomas Jones Fight - Arrowhead Pride (http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2011/8/24/2381297/thomas-jones-jonathan-baldwin-fight-sucker-punch#comments)

Very interesting... It seems as the "physical" altercation was actually started by jones... Which is completely unacceptable.

If you can't keep your 32 year old veterans under control you can't even start to blame your 21 year old rookies.

Both are in the wrong but the physical sh!t should have never happened.

Of course, we don't know what Baldwin said to possibly provoke Jones. Sure, Jones *should* have kept a cool head, but how things are vs. how they should be don't always match up.

Disheartening, if true. I got a chance to meet Thomas Jones at the Plaza lighting and say a few words and seemed like a genuine guy....and a very sharp dresser;)
I guess in the end, they all seem to be thugs. Sucks to hear this.

True. And I am glad TJ put him in his place... I just wish he wouldn't have started the physical altercation. Cause in the end everyone has lost because this hinders our Offense. We are here to win a championship and this crap sets us back. I just hate to see this level of unprofessionalism especially after the lockout.

Apparently Baldwin was taking ill to the rookie hazing Charles was starting and then TJ backed him up. Welcome to the NFL! Dez Bryant had the same issue last year in camp.

Bottom line we passed up on some serious potential to take Baldwin (I was hopin Phil Taylor) so I hope this kid shapes up.

It sounds to me like Baldwin wanted his arse beat. Baldwins got the Diva reputation. he had it in college and he's gettn here. So if Jones wanted to put him in his place so what? sometimes an asswhoopin is the only thing that will straightn you out

You can not judge the character of all by the, out of character, actions of the few or the one.

Just my two cents.

LMAO! You guys are unbelievable. When EVERYONE assumed Baldwin provoked the altercation, you all acted like he deserved it. BUT NOW that the truth came out and Jones "SUCKER PUNCHED" Baldwin, Baldwin is still to blame? LOL

There's NO EXCUSE for Jones being a lil b*tch and sucker punching someone, PERIOD.

Then you guys say he "asked for it". Why cuz he thinks the hazing stuff is childish? Maybe he's the one who's grown up and there to PLAY FOOTBALL, not games.

Since when does "hazing" have anything to do with being in the NFL? Sounds like Baldwin stood up for himself and felt like they were going too far with it. And that Baldwin did the right thing by showing maturity by not starting the physical altercation. You guys should be applauding him not saying he deserved it.

Just for the record: I think their both to blame for the unacceptable behavior. I think the reactions expressed are based much upon the limited knowledge of the situation, those involved and their general reputations; good or bad.

I feel like I am a pretty genuine person, I always treat every person I meet with respect, even when they may have done something wrong to me. I attend church regularly, I try my best to be a good person and do the right thing in all situations I am placed in

This doesn't mean I wouldn't get into a physical altercation it I was set off. My point is we don't know what the situation was, but I do know that the wrong words or actions can set someone off, even if they are usually level headed.

I don't think Jones is a bad person if he started this. To tell you the truth, I think the entire locker room is at fault, We win as a team and loose as a team, that also means we need to work together as a team to resolve conflicts in the locker room. There are fights at every training camp every season, and the only reason this is being blown up is because of Baldwin's past, and Jone's being viewed as a leader.

It's just another training camp...

Yeah I said both were wrong as well... but this whole hazing tradition obviously carries more weight than "playing games".

Dez Bryant was an ESPN storyline because he wouldn't carry Roy Williams' pads.

I am not saying that I agree with it at all but obviously these players hold it with a high value. A paying your dues sort of thing. And at the end of the day if you are going to come into camp into an already established locker room and act high and mighty without even playing an NFL game you are going to get sh!t whether you like it or not.

Well, while that's very profound, it's becoming way too common and, if this IS true, this is not the person that you want to help feed this conclusion, because he is regarded as a "character face" of the NFL. I hope this is just bad info

All very good points...

Bottom line the cost of the whole situation outweighs the point they were trying to make. But you hate to see Baldwins attitude this bad already. I mean how will he handle adversity, contract issues, coaching criticism in the future? I guess only time will tell.

This kid is now even further behind than before. I am really interested to see his productiveness over the first half of the season.

I was merely making a general statement about a conclusion made of "all" NFL players. I simply do not believe them all to be thugs.

The facts are still quite unclear.

But you seem to have your mind made up, as you went ahead and concluded Jones as having "sucker-punched" Baldwin.

And hazing has been around for longer than I have been a fan.

Rather it went too far, or if Baldwin was just a overly sensitive about it is unknown, and subject to opinion.

But, again, you have your mind made up.

Between the two offered versions of the story, it seems likely that one might give the benefit of the doubt to the guy who has been revered around The NFL as a high character guy, over the rookie who has a history of character concerns.

But, if the story is so incredibly one-sided as this report of a sucker punch for no reason, then I agree, Jones would have to be the one "at fault".

It just seems very unlikely to me.

The fact that Jones has a high reputation is EXACTLY why I believe the other story. Sorry but it is very unlikely that a reporter would say something about Jones like that. I don't think I've ever read a report that talked badly about Jones.

Well, I guess if you want to jump on a rumor and tout it as fact, you will.

But both sides will have a version, and this sounds a whole lot like Baldwin's version to me.

Some dude just hates him for no reason, and came up and sucker-punched him?

And a reporter publishing a faulty story?

That is not so far-fetched.

As is, I will just leave it to them, and both will have a scuff on their records, unless the whole story comes out.

But I sincerely doubt it will.

No one said anything about hating him for no reason and sucker punching him? LOL

The report said it began with Charles hazing Baldwin. VERY believable.

Jones backed up Charles. VERY believable.

Baldwin has words with Jones now. VERY believable.

Jones sucker punches Baldwin. VERY believable.

While the other reports I read gave NO details. Only details I saw were on here with everyone defending Jones cuz of his high reputation and Baldwin's past.

My take is that it really doesn't matter who started it it's not good that it happened hopefully it was just something that got a little out of hand and is not going to be a big deal going forward. There are fights during training camp on just about every team. We can only hope that this is not something that is going to go on between the two of them in the real season.

fair enough. but you have to kinda care when your first rounder is acting like this already and misses valuable time. besides there isn't really anything else to talk about right now. preseason has been sorta lack luster in my opinion.

Personally, I don't think any of us know what actually happened.

This "latest version" does not impress me.

The "media" has never impressed me with their ability to ACCURATELY report a story.

So TJ "sucker punched" Baldwin and broke his thumb? I thought his aim was better than that. If Baldwin's jaw or nose was broken this story would be more believable. A broken thumb is more likely to be an injury from throwing a punch than trying to block one.

Until we actually know the facts (and we probably never will) I'll trust the veteran rather than the rookie.

I agree with you about the media for sure... and who truly knows how credible it is. I think it is an interview from 610 sports.

But I don't think it was denying Baldwins attack it was just that Jones swung first. I am a pretty chill guy i think but someone swings at me I am firin' back... ( though it probably wouldn't do much..) haha

Maybe I use a bat!?!?!

I would go out on a limb and say Baldwin didn't just stand there after getting punched. Pretty sure he fought back with him being a "diva" and all.

this baldwin is giving me bad vibes, jones has been thru many training camps and all the hazing and stuff like that.baldwin on the other hand has not and is probably acting like a tough guy instead of just taking the joking and not getting into fights to prove himself.if he wants to prove himself to others on the team, let him do it on the field and let all the other garbage go.sounds like this guy needs to make a name for himself and by fighting with your teamates over bull**** is not how to go about it

Exactly it's preseason who cares, plus nobody knows the real story, also even if Baldwin is a horrible guy (which we don't know) Haley will deal with him. When his "behavior problems" start effecting the regular season, and we have a legit source that it's him then a real discussion can be had. Until then it's just speculation and drama. It seems like now all people do is S on other people for no reason and it's getting old. I'm just happy I can watch football. :bananen_smilies046:

I would respect him more if he fought back not sure what the label "diva" has anything to do with it. Would just let a man punch you in the face, and do nothing?
