The difference would be he doesnt take a hit that he doesn't have to. He doesn't need to take anymore hits then he has to.

Chiefs showed some nice signs on offense. They're showing me that they can move the ball. The defense on the other hand, not looking too good. Mainly the secondary. Getting nice pressure but not getting there quick enough to actually get the sack.

The timeout was because Haley is relaying the plays through Zorn and he miscommunicated to Cassel. Most likely something we won't see again.

i actually kinda like palko i didnt at first. but he has played perty good and moved the ball and chains this preseason better then any of our qb's. i dont fault one of his int cuz it was tiped by our wr.
i kinda glad that alot of our starters played the whole game so they can get their conditioning in on playing a whole game. i think it was for the condtioning and evauluating players in sub groups and all of that. i didnt hear wr tucker name called at all did he even suit up or play? wonder if he will be cut. there is alot of blame to go around in this game. copper dropped two sure catches for first downs late in the game which waisted seconds of the clock as well. then our defense against aaron rodgers didnt slow him down at all. but we had like 5 turnovers and were lost by one point that is perty good actually that we were still even in the game. so that is a good thing if we illimated one turnover i say we win the game. its fixable. i know we lost but this game got my optomistics up and all. oh and we lost by one point with our backup QB in most of the game is a good sign as well even though he did turn it over. again packers didnt play all their starters the whole game but they have very good depth so their backups are no sluches either which makes them a great team. oh yeah and charles fumbled twice so u can blame him to as well jsut not palko's turnovers

you are way over dramatic and way to negetive. you could have said that last week but with 5 turnovers and to loose by only one point is not all that bad. if you take away one turnover i beleive we would have won. i think this is a good experience for our team to learn from, from a turnover standpoint and to drill it into their heads over and over. the int are not a reaccuring thing just tonight but the fumbles is a little worrisome to me. we have to learn to hold on to the balls.

And now ... some observations from someone who didn't watch the game!

I watched the Bears tonight because they didn't play most of their starters at all and I enjoy watching the "bubble people" try to make a case as to why they should make the team.

I did see the game from about 2 plays before Cassell got hurt until the end of that drive, and the last few minutes of the first and 2nd half (Bowe touchdown and Copper drops).

1. I hope Cassel's injury is not serious. The Chiefs are in real trouble without him.

2. The Packers won the Super Bowl last year and they did it with a lot of their starters injured. They are arguably the best team in the NFL, so don't discount the Chiefs successes just because they came against "2nd stringers." I would guess that many of their 2nd stringers are as good or better than the starters they play behind.

3. It appears that the Chiefs moved the ball very well but kept turning it over. As Jason said (I think) That's "fixable." Hang on to the ball and we put up a lot of points.

3. The game was played in Lambeau field and the Packers have an incredible home field advantage (much like the Chiefs).

4. The teams play each other in the regular season this year and I'm guessing Haley didn't want to give too much away tonight, although I missed most of the game so I'm just guessing on that. I heard there was a fake punt (which worked) and I saw the onside kick (which didn't work) when we were ahead. I don't think we do that kind of stuff in a game that counts.

5. Haley took a very unusual approach in playing most fo the starters the whole game when most teams didn't play their starters at all or very little. Maybe that will give them a "running start" going into the regular season against a very beatable Bills team.

6. The offensive line and production in the red zone are definitely concerns but there are still 10 days left until the regular season starts. The Chiefs aren't ready yet but I think they are getting closer. Other than individual performances, It's really hard to tell anything from a meaningless preseason game and the 4th game is the most meaningless of them all.

For me, the jury is still out.

The armchair quarterbacking I would do was on Palko's last int. You rattle off 5 and 7 yard runs, get to 3rd and 3 in their territory (so now you have 2 downs, realistically), and you force a pass play... :whipping1:

They should have taken the two plays to run for that first down, keep the drive going further into field goal range. Instead- force a pass play, end up turning it over.

You also gotta take in consideration on the play calling the entire preseason. EVERYONE knows the Chiefs are going to rely on the run game. So why not use the preseason to try new pass plays and try to open up the field. Come the regular season, you know it's going back to the ground most the game again.
