Several NFL insiders, from Jay Glazer to Chris Mortensen, are reporting the trade will happen before today's trade deadline.

The Raiders are going for it all this year. They'll only have 5th and 6th round picks in the 2012 draft.

Does this make them better? Sure. But Carson Palmer isn't the same quarterback he was in 2005-2007.

I've always liked Palmer, it will be tough to see him play for the raiders. I think he will do well there.

That is way too much compensation for Palmer.

A first round pick is overboard.

But here they have traded a first round pick this year, as well as a second round pick next year. And, if The Raiders should happen to win a playoff game this postseason, then that second round pick gets jacked-up to a first.

A first and a second for Palmer?

Way too much.

Maybe it will work out for them. But I have very little doubt that they could have gotten him for somehwre near half that price.

The faiders do realize the draft is meant to be for college players right?

My other question is do they have any draft picks before 2014?

It could set them(raiders)back. No picks until the 5th round next year. They have bet the farm. I hope Matt is ready for this weekend. he could beat the former starter he played behind at USC. That has to be some incentive.

I think this makes them better this year for sure. It proabley won't be a big get for them long term. And seeing that they are giveing away so many draft picks with there trades I don't know how this is going to work out for them long term. But I think anyone would rather have Palmer then Bolier.
