i do _not_ want to lose to the raiders today. i want some revenge for last year's 0-2 matchup result (particularly some revenge for that miserable home game embarrassment on the season closer last year). make us proud today chiefs!

Keys to the game: Run the ball hard and often, then get the passing game going. No drops-you hearing me Breaston and Bowe? Go with heavy pressure rather than 3 and 4 man rushes. I want to see 6 and 7 guys rushing most downs.

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 03:54 PM
Baldwin is a go time to see what he can do .

bowe is just a monster - this reciever corps is looking very good, and cassel's doing his job today. battles definitely trending up and thomas jones is becoming more or less more of a leader/mentor more than a producer. thats fine with me as long as battle/mccluster will get more carries for it. Anyway - we're looking loads better than form the beginning of the season. im almost feeling encouraged!

iratefan
10-23-2011, 04:43 PM
ok - 1'st and goal, lets do the work. get battle in there.

matthewschiefs

Yoda
10-23-2011, 04:44 PM
Wow, everything going Chiefs way. This game is being played right into KC hands. More good news Chiefs fans. McFadden is hurt and should play the WHOLE game (damm it). According Papa, Raiders play by play announcer, Palmer was not suppose to suit up. Great game by the Chiefs.

matthewschiefs

Come on D don't let them get back into this one

iratefan
10-23-2011, 04:53 PM
raiders speed is dangerous - they should be showing off their running game primarily after those 2 INTs - if we can contain and not let it destroy us we should be looking very good for a W

iratefan
10-23-2011, 04:56 PM
too many too big holes - this isnt over by a mile. these young guys on raiders are just too fast to count them out here. Hope Crennel has a plan for that.

iratefan
10-23-2011, 04:57 PM
w00t stuffed 3 times in a row on goal line. 1 more!!!!

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 05:23 PM
Wow, holding by the head and shoulder pads and the ref just ignores it. He was standing 2 yards from the hold and just watched.

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 05:23 PM
omfg are you serious with that penalty? seriously wtf?

Its amazing things that happen play after play suddenly get called against us all the time

iratefan
10-23-2011, 05:28 PM
that was sad - we got caught _all kinds_ of unprepared on that snap. what are we doing?

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 05:28 PM
We are keeping them in it .

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 05:29 PM

10-23-2011, 05:29 PM
Kyle Boller....still my favorite Raider!

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 05:30 PM
WTF why wouldn't we want to try to score this could come back to bite us at the end

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 05:32 PM
Stupid decison to wait till so little time was left to try. Can't put to much on Cassel that int is more coaching related.

Ryfo18
10-23-2011, 05:33 PM
We still need to get this done, if I recall, the Chiefs were up big after the first half last year in Oakland, and then a Jacoby Ford TD return erased it and we lost.

Yoda
10-23-2011, 05:38 PM
Hue should just put Palmer in. Can he do any worse than Palmer? Chiefs caught the Raiders at the right time!

Yoda

10-23-2011, 05:41 PM
What are you worried about? Boller is at QB!

Because the defense is getting gouged on the run and have been on the field too much for us to be successful.

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 05:41 PM
I think you're a closet Chiefs fan. I wouldn't be on a Raiders forum on game day...at least not until the game is over.

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 05:48 PM
It's amazing how dumb the raiders can be sometimes. Why come out throwing when the run game has been working much better for them today.

chief31
10-23-2011, 05:49 PM
Chiefs caught the Raiders at the right time!

Kind of like catching The Chiefs without Charles, Berry and Moeaki, hunh?

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 05:50 PM
Good stand. Let's hope Haley doesn't Schotalead on us and sit on this. Let's keep aggressive and make the Raiders beat us, not roll over and try to hang on until the end.

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 05:54 PM
Typical dirty loser Raiders.

Has anyone else noticed Succop isn't screwing around anymore? Glad to see he turned it around.

you mean the fact that he hasnt missed any extra points? havent had any real field goal attempts this game, but imo he made up for that one game on the game after with like 5 successful fieldgoals.

edit* - oh i see , with his kickoffs not allowing any returns. yeah very good, carry on :)

iratefan
10-23-2011, 06:01 PM
nevermind that tamba hali had to fall into palmer because he was being held - that penalty doesnt count. in fact that penalty never counts against hali.

matthewschiefs
10-23-2011, 06:01 PM
That late hit was a bunch of crap but a big name qb gets that call all the time. Would love to see Cassel get that call once

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 06:01 PM
He's picked up every facet of his game. We needed that.

azchiefsfan
10-23-2011, 06:11 PM
That last drive Cassel was looking waaaaaayyyyy too nervous in the pocket and rushing passes. He's got to settle down. I'm still on the Cassel bandwagon, but that 3 and out is on him.

Most if not all of you will say.....no.....but deep down you know it's true. As I said, enjoy Chiefs fans while it last. Raiders just need to heal up...regroup and kick *** after the bye. Raiders will bounce back. Buwaaaaahaaaaaa! Just win baby! Oh, wow what a beautiful afternoon here at Half Moon Bay! Aaaaaahhhh!

I would not send Cambell off just yet. Maybe let him heal up and we'll see. You will not win with those two QB's
You know the old saying..."the more we play, the luckier we get". 6 int's(2 pick 6's) and a goal line stand. What I know deep down is we are better than everyone thinks. We all here at the Crowd knew the excuses would fly. What it is, is that you got that:mooning:whooped in your own backyard!!

I am not impressed with KC. They got lucky today. VERY lucky and caught the Raiders at their weakest. Not an excuse, just is what it is. Aaaaaahhhh!

I think you were more exposed then what you and other Raider fans think. Injuries is not an excuse for stupid play and penalties. Witch you did today.

We have 3 guys out for the year. 3 Key guys and we went to your house and SHUT YOU OUT. We were not at 100% either and put a whipping on you. Your deal did hurt but every team has injuries it's no excuse for being beat like you were today. Just a Chiefs fans point of view lol

I don't think the franchise will lose sleep over the fact that you are not impressed with them. But nice that you could not man up and just say "well, we got whooped." You turn it into the fact that we had to wait until your team was at a weak moment for us to get lucky. Which is it? Are we lucky or are you at your weakest moment?

Fact is, the Raiders played mistake-filled football today and the better team won? Are we always the better team? Maybe not, but it's pretty weak sauce to make yourself feel better by saying the other team got lucky.

You have 3 key injuries...ok

Raiders-
FB-Marcel Reese --out---major miss match out of the backfield

CB-Chris Johnson-out---solid vet CB, starting rookies in his place

DE-Shaughnessy-out- one man wrecking crew creates preassure and great against the run.

DMC-out--in 2nd qt---dynamic home run hitter.

QB-Campbell out-manages the game-knows the system, in sync with WR's

KR-Janikowski- more than just pat's

That's 5 guys to your 3. You know as I do, loosing the starting QB is a MAJOR set back. So yes,KC took advantage of this as any team should. But I am not impressed by KC's win. I am not making excuses for the loss, KC did a great job. Just not impressed. People who know football would agree.

Not excuses, just an objective perspective. Now, lost your pro bowl RB, now imagine Cassel gone too. Basically one of the major obstacles that hindered the Raiders today. It is what it is. Raiders could not over come.

Well, say what you want but the fact is no one is going to win with 6 turnovers. 14 penalties for 120 yds.T.O.P. 33.5 to 26.5. We did not beat down a weakened team, just a dumb (for this week) one. Remember:

Yes, BARELY. Campbell was hurt very early in the game. Browns almost won. After the bye, the Raiders will regroup. So enjoy your group hug after this win, pat eachother in the back but later tonight, or later this week reality will hit and realize that you beat a team without their starting QB, RB and a laundry list of injuries. why do you raiders fans tout your injuries around like its _the_ only reason that you could have possibly lost this matchup... against an equally battered and bruised rival. You lost your starter QB. well we still have cassel. You lost mcfadden for the game. we're sans jamaal charles. you dont have janikowski -but it wouldnt have mattered much anyway (no fg's attempted). your QB situation did not help your turnovers but not every turn over was a bad throw. and youre never going to consistently win games with that many penalty yards. The raiders were embarrassed today hands down. Unfortunately the chiefs cant talk too much smack to that considering how they opened the season. but please, just own up to it like we had to instead of hiding behind the injury card.

You do realize that the KC just scored 2 TD's on O and that the bulk of the score came from int's. The injury at QB for the Raiders was a huge deal. Imagine the Chiefs O without Cassel along with Charles. Btw.... I have admitted that the Raiders got their a$$es handed to them, congrats.

I do admit that the injuries were a factor. The thing is though there were so much that was not injury related that hurt you. True...I say the major factors in this game...

1. Injuries
2 Hue gave up on the run way too early and should have adjusted the passing game to his current personel. He got to "cute" on O when he knew far to well he had Boller at QB. The O was all out of sync and played horribly. H

While this statement has some merit, I do believe it is quite overblown. When we lost our first 3 the injuries were listed as factors, but by and large we were introspective and were all trying to find the reasons. Some said Cassel, some said Haley and some said the loss of Weiss. So why would that change if we lost to F*ckland? Why would we all start crying over injuries when we hadn't previously? Secondly, and most importantly, all the "experts" were picking F*ckland before the game, IN SPITE of the injuries. So again, why did the injuries become so important after the butt-whoopin? I will say this with all candor; I expect excuses and talking down our Chiefs from Yoda and the two closet F*ckland fans, but find it quite telling and disappointing from real Chiefs fans.

I agree injuries to key players happen, and they can cause problems. That is why I also believe the NFL should expand roster size. No. The Chiefs proved last year that it does not take a superstar QB to win.

In fact, Cassel proved the exact same thing a few years back in New England.

To win a team does need a competent QB, and certainly a superstar QB can make an otherwise mediocre team into a contender (see Indy)

A great team can survive the loss of their QB so long as they have a competent backup.

If you are blaming

28-0 Baby 28-0!!!!!

on the loss of your QB then you are simply admitting you don't have a great team.

I agree that the roster size will need to be increased when the league goes to an 18 game season, but 65 seems a little high. I don't think an expanded roster would help in this case though. Think about who you would be adding - Players that aren't even good enough to be 3rd stringers on the current rosters. This would include your practice squad and nany of the players you cut during preseason. None of those guys would help compensate for the loss of a Jamaal Charles or an Eric Berry, or even a Darren McFadden.

TopekaRoy

Oh, and all those extra players would have to be paid. Even if you grant them a lower minimum salary than exists now, that's still a lot of money that most owners don't want to part with.
