Is there a setting that the first post is not re-posted on every page? Just wondering if there was something in settings.

Not that I am aware of. But you can raise the number of posts that a single page will hold.

No there is not. But I can turn that feature off is everyone would like me to.

I like the feature, it makes it so that folks are reminded from one page to the next what the original topic is.

I like the original post start at the top of each page. Just raise the number of post per page in your personal settings.
