Cowher doesnt want to coach

I saw this article on CBS from a Miami perspective saying that Cowher wasnt interested in coaching. The funny thing is that Miami is talking about bringing in ... King Carl. Apparently they hope that Carl Peterson has some connection to Cowher and that he will convince him to come out of retirement.

There must be something about all that Miami sun that's affecting their brains. I guess because the got Lebron James to come to the Heat, they think they can get anybody to come there. The only place I could possibly see Cowher ever coaching again is for the New York Giants and I think that's a long shot.

I bet Crennel gets the job and we bring in a stud OC from Packer staff and a upcoming DC that Crennel can hand the D off to. That would save us quite a bit of time as compared to having to completely redo the whole staff and personnel

So long as Crennel hands off the D and doesn't want to tinker with it. I'm ok if he answers questions or guides the up and coming DC hire but Haley proved that HC can't burn the candle at both ends. The only person I know of that does it decently was Shanahan and I think that was mainly because of Elway.

Pick your OC and DC, hand over the reins and be the HC. Maybe that's what fired HC's learn after their first stint?

"I've not been contacted directly or indirectly by any football team or any organization," Cowher said Sunday on CBS, where he has been an analyst since 2007. "It's all speculation, and it's unfortunate because it affects the lives of many people that are in the profession.

"I am here to say to you today, I do not plan on coaching next year. I love where I work, and more importantly I enjoy the people that I work with up here. So I can put all the speculation to rest. And if I have to repeat this in December again, I will. ... I know there is speculation out there. I'm flattered by it to be honest with you. But at the same time it affects too many people's lives. I like what I'm doing right here, and I plan on being back in the same seat next year."

Tony Sparano, coach of the winless Dolphins, reportedly is on the hot seat in Miami. In addition to Cowher, reports have also linked Jon Gruden to the potential vacancy.

Gruden recently signed a new deal with ESPN to remain part of the Monday Night Football broadcast.

So, you saw the name "Cowher" in the title, and just had to click it and comment?

About how tired you are of hearing about it, none the less?

Anyway......

One issue with bringing in a HC who has been in the booth for several years is the rust factor.

They would be going from a cushy, low pressure environment for the past few years, back into the pit.

I think any HC in that situation would have an issue with readjustment.

The only example I can think of was Joe Gibbs.

And he had a short-lived run, with little success involved.

Not to mention, Gibbs had still been in a competitive atmosphere, in Nascar.

I think there might be a great risk in hiring a guy from the booth like that.
