Here is the quote for people who are too lazy or too busy to click on the link. It's very short.

Interim coach Romeo Crennel said Kyle Orton should be the Chiefs' 2012 starter if he wins the final two games.
[RotoWorld's response]

There's a ton of uncertainty in Kansas City, so Crennel is getting way ahead of himself here. He's no lock to get the head coaching job, Orton is an impending free agent, and Matt Cassel is under contract through 2014. Still, Orton may truly be a better option than Cassel. The Chiefs would be foolish not to at least consider using him as a "bridge" to a rookie quarterback they might draft in April. Dec 20 - 8:59 AM

I concur.

RC is no dummy. He's giving Orton some incentive. In a way, their futures are mutually dependent.

If we win out and Orton looks good, then RC will probably become our HC.

If that happens, RC will probably want Orton as his QB. And he will probably get what he wants.

They are both counting on each other.

They both have a TON of incentive to make us shine for the next 2 weeks.

And strangely a lot of it all will depend on Detroit and Buffalo.

"My Man Orton" wants Orton to have the starting job next year regardless of what happens the next 2 weeks.

I say Orton has to prove he deserves the job by lighting up the scoreboard the next two weeks regardless of the outcome of the Buffalo/Denver and Detroit/San Diego games.

One thing I think is fairly certain....

If we win the AFC WEST, RC will be our head coach in 2012 and and Orton will be our QB.

You are right..he is no Dummy...He just put all of the pressure on ORTON and removed it from himself!

RC is a Playah....:whipping1:

It also helps out people like me who check in at work when there's a lull and can't get to all the links because of our stupid proxy! Jeesh, do they expect me to work here or something?!?
