Any word on the visit today with Witson and Tolbert?

I'm looking for anything and can't find a word. Winston, Boss or Tolbert, nothing. So either there's a lot of deals being made or well...nothing's happening.

Winston likes Hooters (the restaurant!).

Offer him a bunch of gift certificates and I'll bet he signs with us! :D

Not good with Winston....

I am starting to get real excited with mediocrity and making sure we have over $30 mil in cap space.

I mean it has been fun so far right?

Yeah, I'm not giving up but...... We appear to be not addressing any of our problem areas. No qb for competition, o line. I hope they aren't holding on to the hope and money that were getting Manning. Soon well be stuck with crappy low cost players left to choose from. I mean at least lock Bowe up with a contract if you're not going to spend any of the cap money!!!

OPLookn
03-15-2012, 09:06 PM
I'm so unhappy with this news that he left without a contract. Seriously it's our biggest position of need. He's the best guy out there. I don't care what you have to pay him. Pay that man his money and move on to the rest of the team. We've got what 30 million left in cap space?

I agree if we're hanging on to it to try and entice Manning here I'm going to be so *expletive* pissed. Pioli needs to realize that he's in a small market team and is going to have to overpay for some people.

Just because he leaves here to visit the Ravens doesn't mean he won't sign with us. If I was a highly sought after FA and I had two teams bidding on me, you can be sure I would visit them both. I'd look at the facilities, talk to the staff, check out the nightlife and schools if I had kids and talk to some of the players about the coaches/front office.

I wouldn't just take the first offer because, "well, I'm here now and I have no idea what the other team wants to offer me, but that money you are waving under my nose sure does smell good!"

He is a Free agent. He is free to visit as many teams as he wants. If we are the best fit for him, we'll get him. Let's not all panic and get depressed just because he visits another team. Let's be patient and see how it plays out first.

Gee... That sounds awfully reasonable.

What if eight teams were just out of their mind trying to sign you?

Would you make a few more trips, look into a few more school districts and social activities? maybe even meet more teams' staffs and players?

Just curious.

Besides, I don't think the Lions have the money to sign him anyway. http://www.chiefscrowd.com/forums/showthread.php?p=257153#post257153
