Larry Johnson , What are you saving your energy for ? I was at the game yesterday and he was lethargic . Walked everywhere , hands on his sides like he was tired . Every runningback is tought to keep your feet moving from pop warner league. He stopped moving the minute someone touched him. You all might have seen something different on TV . All I saw was a guy seeming to give up . Everyone was booing. I stayed strong because I believe in you , but damn man at least act like you wanna be in the game . I watched Colby Smith get the ball one time yesterday and ran like he was on fire and he had one life to live. Maybe you need an eye opener and sit on the bench and watch a rookie show you what the game is all about again from a guy who isn't a millionaire. Anyone who has been to my myspace knows Larry is my guy , but Damn..... I am truly disappointed in the way you are giving up . OK Let the bashing begin !

I don't see the hunger in LJ right now. Maybe we should take some of his food away (playing) and let him realize he wants to play again.

Yea, we should put Bennett and Smith in until the line is fixed because whoever the RB is, they are gonna take a beating! I can't blame the guy for being pissed! If I was him I would call the line out!

i joined the crowd in booing. this is the same man that talked bad about vermiel and priest. the same man that was found no joy in his teams wins against the vikings and even the chargers, where he had +100 yards. He doesnt play for the Chiefs. He plays for Larry Johnson. He will continue to get booed all year, and by the end of the year, the fans will demand his departure. I am telling you this as of 10/8/07. It is for this reason I have always had a problem with his attitude; he seems less and less to be a team player - he's all about LJ.

Crazy talk!! They and you may boo him now but if and when he gets on track, I would like you to continue to boo him. If the O line ever pulls their head out and starts doing their job, he will start getting his normal yardage and the booers will be cheering loudly!

If you didn't like him before they resigned him, did you boo him when he went for 1700 plus? I doubt it! You were beggin for more. Admit it!!!

Winning cures everything and if we were 3 and 2 or 4 and 1, nobody would be talking like this. I just want the people who want to boo him, to boo him when he is doing well also!

exactly. the past few years he had tony richardson, willie roaf and will shields leading him the way. probowlers. now he only has brian waters. that man can't do the job himself and the other guys are just gonna have to toughen up and put up some decent protection for our QB's.

Agreed he has a piss poor attitude, thats what annoys me. Don't get me wrong he's normally a hoss but you can totally see his lack of interest, and yes the O line is a major problem I have said this before. The only person who can fix this is Hermmie and I wouldn't get my hopes up.

LJ will never run well with this O-line, unless the opponents D-line is non-existant. LJ is gonna have a pretty bad year this year, simple as that. Priest would do better with the garbage our line is because he makes people miss and can beat people to the outside perimeter. We all saw what happened when LJ tried beating people to the outside perimeter. 5 yrd loss.

No. That's all you are hearing. I hear alot about the poor offensive line.

LJ got paid a whole lot, because he was percieved as an incerdible talent, based on how well the offensive line played. Now he is up against real adversity and he is cowering. His "incredible talent" seems to have dissapeared.

During his holdout, he wanted to be paid like the best football player on Earth. Where is that billing at now? You sold yourself as that, then where is it?

Yes, you always heard about the great KC O-line. But who got the bigtime recognition out of their talent? Who got mentioned as the best player in the game? LJ became a household name and a highly over-rated player, because of the offensive line, now he is being bashed, because of the offensive line. I would say that that is fair, except that LJ has a $45 mil contract.

Like I said, Clearly it isn't his fault, but if you get the glory, you get the blame.

I agree with you get the glory you get the blame to a certain extent, but to sat that he is a highly overrated player would you like to see him play for the Raiders, maybe the Broncos? For some reason no one is willing to answer that question. I for one would be scared to death to face LJ even once every couple years but 2 times a year. Ouch. Overrated my butt.

The Donkeys may need a running back before too long. You're right, man. I don't want to play against LJ twice a year. I also don't want to see a partial effort from him while he's playing for the Chiefs, though. I would rather watch our defense try to stop him than watch him contribute to stopping himself in a Chief's uniform.

How do you make such a connection?

I said "he is over-rated."

You turn it into " I wnat him to play for the Broncos."

The fact that he is over-rated has nothing to do with rather I want him running behind the Brocos' dirty offensive line.

But, I wouldn't be scared of LJ running all over us. I worry about anyone running all over us. If LJ went to a good running TEAM, he would run all over us, just like whoever else they might have running all over us. I repeat... I never saw him as a monster. He was following a monster. Now that the monster is gone, what is he? Put him with some other monster, and he will look like a monster again. SURPRISE!!! I don't think that it is worth all the money we are giving him, just to not play against us. How much would it cost to never have to play against Tom Brady? How much is that worth?

I wouldn't say that. Priest originally set the records that LT broke. If you'd remember a quote from Priest though. He said "I remember when people were after me with tons of guys in the box, it doesn't matter though, you have to find a way to get yards." Or something like that. People are doing that to LT now, and he's sucking. His backup got more than him last week. Denver has one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, and they held him to like 60 yrds. Enough of that though, LT will probably get it going, but I wouldn't say Priest is so much worse. That's just ridiculous.

Maybe he got fat and happy with his new contract. I always find it funny when players have career years in the contract years. You would think with the kind of money these players get that they would play that hard all the time. First off, LJ never got mentioned as the best player in the game!! Unless it was on a local station in KC but noone nationally ever mentioned him as the best player!

I still haven't heard what the problem in SD is? Same line as last year, same RB. Is it the scheme? The coach? Is LT overpaid?

Well, in my opinion, it has to be all of the coaching changes. Not only did they fire Marty, but they also lost both of their coordinators. They have to call plays based on alot of differnt things that they see, have seen and expect to see, from other teams. A whole new vision, in that regard, means a whole new offense, in alot of cases. And I think the Chargers are one of those cases.

How about the single-season TD record? Priest's first year was with the Ravens in 2000, then went to the Chiefs in 2001. Two years later he set the single-season TD record for a RB. Three years later, LT re-set it. Both have had O-line comparisons of being the best in the NFL. I'm failing to see how LT is so superior to Priest. Is it because he can throw the ball? Or because he's working with a better O-line now? They're even and you know it.

Because he's with the Chiefs. When has any REALLY good Chiefs player been compared to the best in the history of the NFL? DT had the single-game sack record, and still does. I never hear anyone talking about him being the greatest LB ever. TG? I hear talk about him being one of the greatest TEs, he's one of the only Chiefs I've ever heard anyone talk about though, as far as being one of the greatest in history. LT gets that kind of praise because he plays in SD. The only way Priest would get that kind of praise is if he put up 2000 yrds rushing per season, and broke almost every rushing record in the book like Emmit Smith did.

No brownie points!! But I will call a spade a spade. I have always thought he and TG were just exceptional at thier positions. I like TG too, he is a beast of a tightend. He torched us for 100 yards, the dude is just a horse!

DT is my favorite player but I am not niave enough to say he was the best LB ever!!

Yeah, but everyone knew about that animosity and it is an exceptionally rare relationship. And totally irrelevant to the relationship between Herm and Peterson. When a GM drafts players that the head coach doesn't want, it becomes pretty big news. Those things don't happen often.

Who is the best DB then? Who was able to rush the passer as well as DT? Who had the ammount of speed to be anywhere on the field to make a play like DT? Ray Lewis? Brian Urlacher? None have a dime on DT.

I'm not saying he's "the best" either, but I never even hear is freaking name. My point is that the Chiefs never get publicity unless something insane is happening. Priest led the NFL in rushing in 01. I'm not really sure in 02, thanks to that injury. In 03, I know he did. 04, I think he did. LJ leads it in 05. Then, LT has a Priest-like 03 season, and everyone talks about him being some god among RBs. If you live in just about anywhere but KC, you'll get publicity.

Are you going to actually tell me that you think there is or has been in the last 10 years, a better RB than LT?

If you put up you will get recognized. I used to here about Priest all the time and I don't live anywhere near KC.

Well, Priests numbers were quite comparable. And I think LT has been getting over-hyped some.

Ah. I just don't know what else to do, now that we have reached common ground on the GM/Head coach discussion.

LJ is not earning what we are paying him. I know its not all his fault. I know the line has not been great for him this year, but it doesnt look like hes even trying. We need to sit LJ and bring in one of our other Pro Bowl backs just to show LJ that we will do whatever is nessesary to win, and if he doesnt want to try we wont play him.

If you really want stats, I will be glad to provide them however I have to believe that you are somewhat joking right?

You do remember that Priest played in Baltimore right? Not stellar to say the least.

Yes I was joking.

The reason his numbers in Baltimore were notsteller is because he backed up Jamal Lewis if I recall correctly.

That is correct. Priest also started the superbowl and rushed for over 130 yards and at least 1 or 2 TD's (I think it was 2). So go ahead and trash a walk-on who is the closest thing to Barry Sanders or Walter Payton you will ever see, hillbilly... :sign0104:

He cracks the top 10 though and if you put the list together it is a very impressive list of names...

LT (the real one), Butkus, Lambert, Ray-Ray, Singletary, Nitschke, Jack Ham, Sam Huff...

Would you please stop telling everyone about what someone else thinks. Try and imagine what Priest WOULD HAVE DONE, if not for the poor luck he had with injuries.

I won't make the case of Priest being the "best of all-time", but he was absolutely comparable to what LT has been, so far. You are welcome to bring up the numbers. If you like, I will help you to Pro-rate them, to show a fair comparison, as per a per-game/per-carry competition.

The only meaningful advantage that I would give to LT is based on the fact that Priest had Roaf/Waters/Wiegmann/Richardson, to work behind. But then, alot of the Chargers' O-linemen are starting to get some recognition, as well. Perhaps in a year, or two, we will be hearing about what a fantastic group that is.

In my mind there is a glaring difference that's why there are no stats first.

Second, I will not stop telling you what the people that do this for a living think!! We all have our opinions! Is it against the rules for me to agree with what SOME of them say? I have my own thoughts and opinions and sometimes they differ from what the so called experts think but sometimes I do agree with them! Some have stated that these guys don't have a clue because their picks were terrible! Please! I think it's a joke when I hear how these guys don't know the game because of their picks. Most of them have played in the league for years and years! Did they play that long because they didn't know the game? Now, some of the guys that are basically just journalists, yea, I don't take much of what they say to heart. I may be wrong, but didn't you just tell someone to stop telling you what to think or say? may have been Chiefster but either way... kind of ironic isn't it?

Now, I have stated before that I am a big Priest fan but I think he is done. I don't want him to come back because I am afraid with this O line he will get reinjured and with the neck injury maybe worse! I guess we will have to continue to disagree because I don't think he was as good as LT is!

Sportscenter compares LT to Barry Sanders and Walter Payton. HJe doesnt even come close to those guys. Has LT ever had a 2000 yard season? No. Has LT ever had to single handedly carry his franchise for years? No. Has LT had a crappy line that couldnt hold thier blocks every game and get out of it? No. LT is not as good as Sportscenter and the NFL says. He is one of the most over rated backs I have seen. Priest was an under rated back. If Priest would have not got injured he would still be starting instead of LJ. Priest came to us and our run game flourished alot of credit to the line. Before he came we had no run game. He is every bit as good as LT is. They guy is 33 and still wants to play. Will be be able to say the same thing about LT when hes 33?

Not to mention, when Priest led the league in rushing in 01, our line was awful. Maybe even worse than it is now. All we had in 01 was a bunch of idiots with a young Brian Waters and Will Shields, Priest still found a way to get it done. Next year, he gets Roaf and a few other guys, and bam. Just saying, Priest isn't NEARLY as dependant on an O-line as some people think or say he is. We're all providing facts and statistics as to why Priest is even with LT, and all you say is "LOL, the experts say LT is better, it must be true!" Well, I'll say this, maybe we should have traded Priest to the Chargers, then he probably would be the one talked about amongst the NFL as being of the best RBs, but sadly he stayed with the Chiefs.

The fact that LJ is plainly heavier and slower than he was in years past (after holding-out of TC) while Priest has worked extremely hard and gotten into shape while not even playing says to me all I need to know about the situation and also tells me who really wants to play some football.

There is no denying the skill of LT but I would take Priest in his prime over Tomlinson any day for his example of work-ethic and display of humility while keeping an aura of confidence, and also his leadership in the locker room and on the field-- which is one way Priest may be able help this running attack if they bring him back to play. I think the guys up front may find a little extra incentive to block for a guy like Priest, rather than somebody who storms out of the locker room every week in a huff and can't even try to act positive after a big, division road-win for his team.

It just seems that your primary argument for any topic is "the press says so". That isn't evidence. How about bringing some evidence. Other peoples' opinions are that...opinions. I just think you should try formulating your own opinions and giving reasons for those opinions, instead of just agreeing with what TV people think.

You may have taken it more seriously than intended. I didn't mean that you aren't allowed to cop-out of discussion. Just that I would rather discuss your opinion with you, than do discuss someone elses opinion...with you.

Every former pro-bowl player that has his voice on TV, or radio, is capable of oversights and bias. But I don't get to have those discussions with them.

You could be right regarding the extra risk that Priest is putting himself at. But, if he is determined, which I think he is, then GO PRIEST!!! I also believe that he will find success behind our O-line hard to come by.

But this has become about the comparison between Priest and LT. You stated that you would be happy to show the stas, then, when invited to do so, have not rplied to that challenge. What gives?
