This year, 65 TPT followed that NFL first with its second consecutive NYF Award.

“Taking home our second trophy was humbling as the competition came from over 40 countries and we were amongst some of the best in the business including TNT, ESPN, Showtime and some of the great documentarians across the planet,” said Chiefs Vice President of Media and Marketing Rob Alberino.

“The 65 Toss Power Trap Productions Crew deserves all of the credit for their dedication to bringing Chiefs fans their best work possible."

Chiefs Kingdom (Episode 3: Joplin) won a Bronze World Medal for Online Sports Program at the 2012 NYF Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas Tuesday night. The Bronze Award was the first accolade for Chiefs Kingdom, which premiered on KCChiefs.com in 2011.

The documentary-style show is the world’s first full length program series dedicated exclusively to telling the stories of Chiefs fans.

In its first three pilot episodes, Chiefs Kingdom followed the lives of fans impacted by the devastating EF5 tornado that hit Joplin, Missouri in May of 2011, spent time with comedian actors Paul Rudd and Rob Riggle and told the story of 9/11 survivor Lt. Col Brian Birdwell.

“The Hunt Family and the entire Chiefs Kingdom have created a culture rich in tradition and ripe for storytelling,” said Senior Producer Jodain Massad, who serves as the lead editor for Chiefs Kingdom. “Chiefs Kingdom is dedicated to telling those stories.”

This fall, Chiefs Kingdom will move to television and air in 10 markets across the region, including a 10:30 PM timeslot Saturday evenings on CBS-KCTV5 in Kansas City. The show will also be archived on KCChiefs.com after each airing.

"What’s most exciting to me is that Chiefs Kingdom received recognition after only three pilot episodes,” said Alberino. “The show will run in its entirety - this season - as we unveil 17 new episodes starting in September.

“This launch of the show signifies the Hunt Family’s dedication to bringing the fans top notch programming that is truly unsurpassed in the League. I'm just proud to be a part of it."

Last year, the Chiefs’ New Arrowhead Grand Opening feature was awarded the Bronze World Medal in the writing category while competing in NYF’s International TV Programs and Films grouping.

The New Arrowhead Grand Opening was a six-minute feature narrated by Riggle. In the final product, Riggle dramatically told the storied history of Arrowhead Stadium to a sold-out crowd prior to the Chiefs 2010 season opener on Monday Night Football.

The 65 TPT crew was also recently honored with the franchise’s first-ever Emmy awards, taking home seven Emmys in 2011. The Emmys came on the heels of 65 TPT winning 14 Telly Awards, which represented the highest single-year total in team history.

"We have one goal as a production team - and that is to not only be recognized as the best in the NFL but all of major league sports in America,” said Alberino. “From the tremendous growth of our social media, to award winning television broadcasts, to ground breaking in-stadium production, we feel we are being recognized both regionally and nationally.

“Being awarded our second consecutive New York Festival Medal further fuels that goal and motivates us to continue creating compelling and exciting content."

Fans can vote for some of 65 TPT's work in this year's People's Telly competition. Voting begins now and ends April 27th: Fan Spots, Musician Spots, Paul and Rob, Chiefs Kingdom Open.
