Kudos for Solari

I want to take this opportunity to bear witness on behalf of Mike Solari.

Early this season, I had my doubts about his knowlege of our offense. He has, since, eased my mind, on that subject. The adjustments made to the offense, early, had a profound impact on the design of the offense. Since that time, however, the Chiefs offense has gotten on track.

They are now running familiar plays, and doing it with a fair amount of success. This is a miraculous accomplishment because of the offensive line situation. Having lost both of the starting OTs from '05, and the season opener loss of starting quarterback Trent Green, I had no hope for this offense. Solari has gotten more than anyone could have hoped for out of Jordan Black, Kevin Sampson and Kyle Turley, who had looked inept at their positions to start the season. Couple this with the achievements of, back up quarterback, Damon Huard, and Kansas City has a high powered offense, once again.

Solari has worked, what I can only see as a miracle, with the Chiefs' offense. I am thankful to him. And I am thankful for the accomplishments of the players, on the field. Such as Black, Sampson Turley and, especially, Damon Huard.

Well they've scaled back the offense and they are now gelling.

I too say well done Mike, it takes a wise coach to build the offense around the abilities you have on the field, and make it work. I have one more request, please work your magic against Miami Sunday.

As an O-Line specialist, he should be able to gameplan around the strengths and weaknesses of the players on that line.

I think his early struggles had more to do with inexperience as a play caller.

He's learning and gaining confidence in that role.

As for Black and Sampson, they have played pretty well recently.

I had given up on Black, even though last season I suggested his problems had more to do with being shuffled around so much.
He's starting to get comfortable at LT, and while he will never be Willie Roaf, he is playing well enough now to bet the job done.

I don't, nessecarily agree with the inexperience factor. I think he really struggled because of the lack of talent on the O-line. Then, with Trent Green out, he seemed to be hesitent about opening the playbook for Damon Huard. The running-game may have been due to his inexperience. But, if one should go back and watch the Bengals game, one might notice that he was calling some very familiar passing plays.

With what the Offensive line has showed me lately, I am hoping that in opening the playbook again we don't see a unconscious Trent being carried off the field.
