this is turning into a joke. what is clark thinking. at first midway through the season pioli was assumed to be getting an extension. then clark after firing crennell is supposedly evaluating the whole football operations side of the team. and we all asumed pioli was on his way out(wishfull thinking). now espn reports andy reid did his interview with MULTIPLE people involved including pioli. i just dont see any good coming out of playing pioli like a puppet. like or dislike pioli's moves this is all starting to make clark look like an incompetant idiot.

All I can say is its Wednesday and give it some time to work itself out. This day and age there is too much knee jerk reaction, one things for sure, we know about 5% at best of what's really going on.

It's a process :D

its as simple as if you dont think he is good for the orginazation fire him. if your company underperforms it should all fall on the main honcho i,e pioli fire him

Pioli is under contract for one more year. A dynasty is not built when u have to replace a HC every couple yrs and a GM every four. Scott tried do too much he is still valuable. How do you fire a guy that makes you millions. Okay he can't evaluate a qb or an HC but pioli still has value. Yes we were 2 and 14 but we have 5 pro bowlers plus 2 alternates the talent is here. Love him or hate him he is here or whinning isn't gonna do anything. Hell Clark didn't give us an I'm sorry once for the crap we saw this season.

I can't argue that because I would have ****canned him before week 8. Until there is an official word he's retained I can't get that worked up about it, guess this season has given me an idgaf attitude about this organization right now.

Lets all Chill out here. We don't know what role Pioli is playing in the interviews. Clark did say the new coach would have a say in if Pioli stays or goes. That might be why he's going to the interviews so that whoever ends up being hired can talk to Pioli and see if he wants him around or not. Pioli being at the interviews could have a purpose. Lets all chill out people we are only 3 days into the offseason

Gotta agree.

After they talk to Hunt , pioli gets his chance to save his job. Most likely.

I'm hoping that it's not being handled as poorly as the title of this thread was written.

Clark is doing a great job, he has taken it upon himself to take this important decision from an incompetent gm and find the right guy, he has found Andy Reid and now will look to hire the proper GM to accommodate Reid.

This offseason is going exactly as we should hope, now all that remains is to fire Scott Pioli, which will happen sometime this month.

Good point. If the new coach is going to have some say in whether Pioli goes or stays, it only makes sense that they should meet.

OTOH....Hearing Reid has said that he and Heckert are a "package deal" makes me think that Hunt may want to keep Pioli and that maybe this is keeping Reid from signing with us.

Of course this is all speculation on my part.

Just heard on NFL 32 that Pioli met with Reid for 30 minuits to discuss if They can work together. So like I said Pioli was there to plead his case. He won't be in KC very long should the hire of Reid become offical

Andy Reid, who has drafted qb's and developed them is coming to KC. He has already addressed the qb position need with the quote "Well they already have the number 1 pick." And Scott Pioli is on his way out.

This is going to be a great week, and a great season. For the first time really since the start of the 2005 season, I am excited about our franchise.

Oh, and did I mention Scott Pioli leaving? HAHA YES! Break out the champagne!

Mr. Hunt made a choice in Pioli that everybody thought was a great choice, then stayed out of the way and let the man do his job. That's what an owner is supposed to do. It failed. That happens. Now he's taking this into his own hands, getting a lot of advice, and doing his best to make the best choice available. Cut the man some slack! You know 5% of the whole story and you've developed an opinion that he's an idiot. Have you ever mad a decision anywhere near the big? Few of us have. Let's let it play out. He's not sitting back and letting this slide, he's in front leading the effort and I fully support that!

I think he was talking to the thread originator at least I would have. Here it is 3 days after the coach was fired, none of the other 6 teams that need a coach have hired one already why must we get it done in 2 days?

I agree with you

Clark has done a great job so far IMO. Even though I'm not 100% with the choice

Clark said Monday the new coach would have a say in if Pioli stays or goes well I don't know about you but I would want that coach to make an informed choice how could he do that without at some point talking to Pioli. And If there's going to be a change at GM Hunt would want to know asap so he can get to work on a new GM. So the meeting between Coach and Pioli should've happened asap. That's what happened A+ there

In less then 3 days really Clark went out and got a coach who has been to the playoffs a lot and won a alot of playoff games with many different teams and QBs. I'm not 100% behind Reid's hireing should it come to happen instead of just being reported based on the recent years in Philly but There may be somethings I don't no so I'm giving it a change. And really what choice do I have in it? But so far in my book Clark gets an A+ this week

I'm sorry, but I've gotta hand it to Clark Hunt. This guy doesn't eff around. He went out and got Pioli done when everyone believed he was the next G.M. demi god and now he's gone out and put Andy Reid on lock down IN Philly with 7 top brass reps... I think this guy means business.

With all the ties to Philly and KC that Vermeil has, you HAVE to believe he was a BIG player in getting Hunt and Reid together.

I've been thinking a lot about it (as have we all) and I really do like the pick of Reid, and how this is all going down. He'll pick the GM that he can work with. He brings a proven system. He's had a lot of success and just needed a fresh start. I'm on-baord.

I'm with you! I think we got the very best available coach who would consider coming to KC. In this offense-happy NFL I especially like the DV connection.
