So apparently Dumervil agreed to a reduction in salary, but didnt send the contract in until after the deadline, so the Donks cut him.

Apparently they would have owed him more money if they waited, and they didnt trust that he would agree to it, so they cut him.

I find it hilarious that they had to cut a guy with 20.5 sacks in the past 2 seasons. They will have to scramble to sign someone like Dwight Freeney and hope he hasnt dropped off too much. Definitely good news for us ... unless Dumervil signs with the Chargless or Faiders.

Perhaps, but New England needs some kind of pass rush and Josh McDaniel knows the Denver Broncos roster well. Not to mention Dumerville was a beast for Josh when he coached there.

I think they'll try to resign him. Not the first guy to get cut, then resigned by the same team. Just a thought.

In the age of smartphones and wireless tablets - why fax anything? What is this - 1995? Jeez - just download the contract to your device, digitally sign the thing, and email it back. 8 mil down the tubes (I'm sure he'll recoup) because he couldn't find a Kinko's?

I remember reading somewhere that faxes are still legaly binding while emails and stuff are not. Also i'm starting to think his agent (who he fired) did this so dumerville could get more money which means more money for the agent.

Hopefully that agent has a Rod Tidwell in his back pocket:smile

John Harbaugh managed to outdo Rod Tidwell & John Elway combined. Guess this means he had a box of purple crayons ready along with a copy of the contract.
