Weather forecast: http://a.espncdn.com/i/weather/mobile/84.png 79 degrees, 90% chance of rain

Line: Chiefs -2.5, Over/Under: 38.5

Notable Quotables:
Chiefs:
"It's so much fun when you win, and it sucks so bad when you lose. We know the part that sucks from the last few years. That's why we are enjoying the wins, but not getting too hyper over them. We want to keep it up, it's addicting and we don't want to suck anymore." -- Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe

Giants:
"Nobody has said anything like that to me, so I'm gonna play here until I'm gone." - Titans WR Kenny Britt on reports and speculation that he might be traded.

ESPN Game Preview (http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/nflpreview?

gameId=331006010):

While the Kansas City Chiefs try to remain undefeated, the Tennessee Titans hope an injury to their starting quarterback won't derail the team's strong start.

The Chiefs look to go 5-0 for the first time in 10 years Sunday when they visit a Titans team trying for its first three-game winning streak in two seasons.

After enduring the overall frustration of a franchise-worst 2-14 season in 2012, Kansas City is only focused on trying to maintain its best start since going 9-0 in 2003.

"We try not to even think about last year," receiver Dwayne Bowe said. "Every day we go day-by-day, and right now we're 4-0 and the target is on our back, and we have to keep pushing."

There are plenty of reasons why the Chiefs only should look forward. A win Sunday would make Kansas City the first team to win its first five games the season after winning two or fewer contests.

"The team is totally in, the coaches, the players," Bowe said. "It's all a family right now. We're a family organization. On all three sides of the ball we're doing good."

Kansas City has scored 26 or more points in three of four contests after doing so twice in 2012.

Despite throwing his first two interceptions of the season, Alex Smith threw three of his seven touchdowns in last Sunday's 31-7 rout of the New York Giants. With a victory this weekend, Smith would join Mike Livingston as the only quarterbacks to win their first five starts with the Chiefs.

Running back Jamaal Charles has overcome a quad injury and foot problems to rank third in the NFL in yards from scrimmage with 125.5 per game.

"He wants the ball, which you appreciate," coach Andy Reid said. "I really appreciated it after I saw his feet and the blisters on them (last Sunday). The kid is a tough kid. He likes to play."

Charles, listed as probable, won't have rookie right tackle Eric Fisher blocking for him, as he's been ruled out this week due to a concussion suffered against the Giants.

The Chiefs allow a league-best 10.3 points per contest and have recorded an NFL-high 18 sacks.

Dustin Colquitt leads the league with 15 punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line, and should be ready after he sprained his knee last weekend.

"We come out here and try to perfect our craft every single day and every practice," tight end Sean McGrath told the Chiefs' official website. "We just want to be as prepared as we can to face an opponent the next week."

Kansas City expects to face a serious challenge in Nashville, where the Titans (3-1) have won four in a row and will try to win three straight overall for the first time since Sept. 18-Oct. 2, 2011.

Tennessee will attempt to do so without quarterback Jake Locker, who, according to coach Mike Munchak, will miss a "few weeks" after suffering a sprained hip in the third quarter of last Sunday's 38-13 win over the New York Jets.

The third-year signal-caller, who missed five games with a shoulder injury during Tennessee's 6-10 season of 2012,
completed 62.2 percent of his passes, threw six touchdowns, no interceptions and posted the AFC's third-best passer rating of 99.0 though four games.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, who posted three straight 3,000-yard seasons in Buffalo, gets the start after he went 3 of 8 for 108 yards and a TD against the Jets.

"I was brought here for a reason, and the reason I was brought here was to help Jake out and be ready for a situation like this if it came up," said Fitzpatrick, who has thrown eight touchdowns and two picks while going 4-1 against the Chiefs.

He could have Kenny Britt back in the mix after the receiver missed last Sunday's contest with a rib injury.

With Fitzpatrick at the helm, the Titans have a chance to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to go the first five games of a season without committing a turnover. Tennessee and Kansas City are tied for the NFL lead in turnover differential at plus-9.

"It's discipline by the team," Munchak told the Titans' official website. "It's important to them. We work on it everyday. Hopefully it continues."

A Tennessee defense that is allowing 17.2 points per game (seventh in the league) and has recorded 14 sacks hopes for a better effort than the last time these teams met.

Bowe had 153 receiving yards and a TD and Charles amassed 117 total yards and scored twice in Kansas City's 34-14 home win over the Titans in 2010.

Britt had four receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown in that contest.

Chiefs-Titans scouting report (http://www.kansascity.com/2013/10/05/4531614/chiefs-titans-scouting-report.html)

October 5

When the Chiefs run
EDGE >> TITANS
The Chiefs average 120.8 rushing yards per game, and while running back Jamaal Charles hasn’t had an eye-popping run yet, he faces a Titans defense that has yielded 4.3 yards per carry, eighth-highest in the league. But the Chiefs’ offensive line is banged up — all five starters have been listed on the injury report this season — and the Titans are much better in pass coverage, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Tennessee stack the box with defenders.

When the Chiefs pass
EDGE >> TITANS
The Chiefs’ offense has been capable this season but the edge this week goes to the Titans, who have racked up 14 sacks, fifth-most in the NFL, and feature one of the league’s best pass defenses. Keep an eye on defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, who has been a menace against the pass, and cornerback Alterraun Verner, who already has four interceptions.

When the Titans run
EDGE >> CHIEFS
Don’t be fooled by the 117.5 rushing yards per game the Chiefs have allowed this season; the only team to really gash them on the ground is Philadelphia, which racked up 264 rushing yards with its zone-read. The Chiefs have held their other three opponents to almost 69 rushing yards per game, which would be tops in the league. The Chiefs likely will make the Titans beat them through the air.

When the Titans pass
EDGE >> CHIEFS
The Chiefs might have been favored in this area anyway before Jake Locker’s injury, but they definitely are now. Locker, a former first-round pick, was starting to come into his own before his injury last Sunday, but even he would have had his hands full with a defense that is tied for the league lead in sacks and has allowed only 10.3 points per game. Backup Ryan Fitzpatrick has had success against the Chiefs in the past, but this is a different year, and a different defense.

Special teams
EDGE >> CHIEFS
The health of punter Dustin Colquitt is a concern because of a knee sprain he suffered last week, but he was still terrific against the Giants. He and kicker Ryan Succop have generally outperformed their counterparts on the Titans, kicker Rob Bironas and punter Brett Kern. Throw in Dexter McCluster, who swung a game with his punt-return touchdown last week, and the Titans — who have yet to net a return touchdown — don’t quite match up.

Coaching
EDGE >> CHIEFS
While Chiefs coach Andy Reid has a Super Bowl appearance and several winning seasons under his belt, Titans coach Mike Munchak went 6-10 last season and has an 18-18 career record as a head coach. That doesn’t mean he isn’t a good coach, but his credentials don’t match Reid’s.

X-factor
EDGE >> TITANS
The Titans are off to a strong 3-1 start after going 6-10 in 2012, so LP Field should be pretty electric for a showdown against one of the NFL’s last undefeated teams.
Bottom line: Chiefs 20-17

The Titans are going to offer the Chiefs a real test, and there’s a chance Ryan Fitzpatrick — who boasts a 4-1 career record vs. the Chiefs — finds his magic again. But the Chiefs are a better team on paper, and have the defense to go toe-to-toe with the Titans, as long as they continue to take care of the ball.

A Chiefs fan in England? Cool. I'm originally from NW Pennsylvania, but I'm not a Steelers fan, as I grew up watching the AFL during the '60s and the Chiefs were one of the most entertaining teams to watch during that time & became my favorite team.

This is going to be a tough contest and a very good test for KC today.

Should be a good game. Tennessee has a tough defense, I like ours a bit more.
Hope our dinged up O-line can buy Alex some time and get Charles a few holes.
Little nervous about this game, mainly cause it's a road game.

The league reportedly was losing about $30 million a season. Sad that it is gone and with the new NFL commissioner so stuck with England, I doubt we will see a game being played here in Germany. I am however happy with the gamepass. Watching any game live is since.

short, but the hang time was retarded. he had a tad bit of pressure there i think he was being safe. but it has to touch around the 20 to get the bounce inside the 10... so it was probably as planned.

at this rate., the Titans D will fatigue faster than the chiefs. this has been, i presume, a big reason why our 4th quarter offense has been so much more potent in recent games. time of possession being dominated once again by great defensive effort and an offense that can at least move the chains.

Great effort by the D so far in the first half. That goal line stand, especially when facing a very north/south runner like Jackie Battle, was really good.

The offense needed to make some of those field goals into TD's. They've been pretty effective at digging themselves out of holes, especially against this Titans D which has been very tough. Avery came up with a crucial catch in that last drive. Bowe has been non-existant, and Reid seems to be saving JC for the second half (?!?)

Special teams is the reason why we have the lead. To do that to them early in the game like that has made this game an uphill battle so far.

Horrible pass interference call, but we placed our defense in a horrible situation. We must do better on offense.
