The Chiefs, winners of their first nine games of 2013 and favorites in all but one of those contests, are underdogs of more than a touchdown on Sunday at Denver at various Nevada sports books, according to “The Linemakers” of Sporting News. The Chiefs-Broncos line sent us to our leather-bound, rich-mahogany-smelling point spread archives to… Read more… (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/11/11/unbeaten-chiefs-underdogs-of-more-than-a-td-sunday-at-denver/)

Interesting reply:

"Denver has virtually the same schedule ( as KC ). They went 13-3 last year. Preferential treatment to Elite QB’s? You decide."

Who has Denver played this year that came into the game with a winning record other than Indy? Why were they given what amounts to nearly a last place schedule through the first 9 games?

Money speaks louder than words. Usually betters $$ show the most truth. So...they are probably pretty accurate...being that it is in Denver and not KC. Don't be offended, geez!

I don't care about odds or betting lines. Games are won by the players on the field & point spreads don't mean squat. And I believe the Chiefs DO have a chance to win in Denver if they go about it right & don't let the game get out of hand. The blue-print has been set to slow down the Donks Offense -- press coverage on their receivers and put fierce pressure on Manning. The Chiefs simply need to follow that blueprint -- RUTHLESSLY !!

...And, on the offensive side, ball control! Eat clock and keep Manning on the sidelines.

I am glad we are the underdog, by a large margin, we seem to perform at a higher level when in a situation like this. We are gonna kick some donkey arse!!!

As has been said, our defense was purpose-built to beat the denver mannings. The Colts beat denver and Dallas darned near did. But both of them did it by trying to win a gunfight. Those two games saw a combined total of 171 points scored--an average of 85.5 points per game. So you can beat manning in a gunfight but it is not easy.

The Chiefs on the other hand will have a different game plan. Throw a blanket over manning's big fat head and SMOTHER the bastid! It is the ONLY way to beat denver consistently. I know the Chiefs Defense is capable of it, I don't know if they will Git-r-done. Pretty sure we will at Arrowhead, but doing it in Denver is a tall order. But one thing is pretty certain though, if we beat them this Sunday then denver's dream of winning the AFC West and the Super Bowl pretty much goes up in smoke. If we beat them in denver they are flat out fuc*ed!

The big keys to this game as stated by brdempsey and Chiefster are pressure on manning, pressing the receivers and our offense keeping manning on the sidelines. We have shown that we can do that kind of work consistently in the 4th quarter. This week we will see if we can do it for an entire game against one of the most prolific offenses the NFL has ever seen who in this game may well have the damned zebras lending them a hand.

IMO denver will go all out to try to get a big early lead. They know our Offense is not built for 21 point comebacks. We're going to have to do what we have done pretty much all season....keep the game close, get a lead in the 4th and then shut them out.

Easy to say. Hope we can do it. If they haven't blown us out by the half then denver will be deep in the shi* right about up to their noses. Chiefs OWN the 4th quarter!

A big key is the offense not having 3 and outs. If they can drive and, preferably, put some points on the board each time they get the ball it is going to be a huge assistance to the D.

Remember, they are playing at Mile High ... the air is thin and you get winded a LOT faster there. The D is going to need all the O2 they can get in order to keep playing at a high level and keep getting after Manning. 3 and outs are not going to give them enough of a breather in between drives to get their oxygen levels back up and be able to keep going at 120%.

The best defense is a good offense!
