Holmes activated, will be in uniform Sunday
NFL.com
The Chiefs announced Saturday they have activated Priest Holmes (http://www.nfl.com/players/priestholmes/profile?id=HOL627237), and he is expected to be in uniform for Sunday’s game at Oakland, the Kansas City Star is reporting.
Holmes, who has been on the reserve, non-football injury list this season, has not played in a game since suffering head and neck injuries from a hit against the Chargers on Oct. 30, 2005. He will be the backup for starter Larry Johnson.
Because of the trade of Michael Bennett (http://www.nfl.com/players/michaelbennett/profile?id=BEN384766) to Tampa Bay earlier this week, the Chiefs did not have to clear space on the 53-man roster for Holmes.
Johnson has had many huge games against Oakland and the Raiders' defense has been one of the league's worst teams at stopping the run.
The Raiders (2-3) have struggled mightily in the running game no matter who they've faced this season.
Oakland's starting defensive tackles Warren Sapp (http://www.nfl.com/players/warrensapp/profile?id=SAP635685) and Gerard Warren (http://www.nfl.com/players/gerardwarren/profile?id=WAR639317) are nursing injuries that kept them out of practice most of the week.
The Chiefs have won three of four games after an 0-and-2 start.
