I see Maclin as a possible guy since he was with Reid and knows what Reid wants in the offense

I think Maclin already resigned a 1 year deal with Philly. A guy I really like is Golden Tate. He's been kind of stuck in SEA with a run-first offense that features Russell Wilson spreading the ball around to many receivers. He's extremely talented though.

I liked Tate coming out of ND. I would love to have him just leave the BS taunting with the Seahawks please. Tate and Bowe would be a good pair

I like Tate, as well and thought the Chiefs should have drafted him with one of those 2 second round choices in 2010. He can double as a punt returner as well. The guy can run routes, has good speed, and can get separation from defenders.

I wanted him and was almost sure Pioli would pick him up with the first of those two picks in the second. turns out he could have picked him up with the second pick in the round!!... But he chose Arenas. :(

When he didn't I was rooting for us to get Decker in the 3rd. Well....

I didn't like that one either when he chose Arenas over Tate. Tate had run a 4.36 at the combine compared to Arenas 4.58 and Tate had the potential to be a long-term starter where you knew that Arenas didn't. Tate had played under Charlie Weiss at ND and Weiss had become the OC, so it didn't make any sense to me.

And then he takes Baldwin in round 1 of 2011 & I thought Baldwin was an inferior prospect to Randall Cobb and it turns out I was right. Here's to hoping that Dorsey/Reid do a better job of addressing the Chiefs receiver core.

But I still believe that a 3-4 DE that can attack the QB like Stephon Tuitt would be the best pick with the top draft pick, as the Chiefs don't have any 3-4 DE's that can attack the QB and until they get them, this Defense may never see elite status.

I started a thread back in 09 wanting Tate

But looking back part of me is glad we didn't take him. The horrible coaching that this team has had over the past few years might have had a real bad effect on Tate as it did with many. So IF the Chiefs were able to grab him in this years free agent market then that might have just worked out perfectly for the Chiefs. But I really don't see it happening. I still think that Maclin is more likely but from what I've read he wants to be back in Philly. So I don't see that either now. But we have to get SOMEONE to help at the WR spot

Is Seattle in any cap trouble?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Anquan Boldin. He's still talented, big enough to draw double teams, and would put another veteran in the locker room.

As things currently stand they have more cap room then the Chiefs do at this point but not much more. But guys getting cut could very well change that

He's one that stood out for me as well. But I don't think there's much of a chance. But would be real nice to see no doubt

So much for us going after Golden Tate.

It's still very possible to go after Tate every team is going to free up cap room it's just a matter of how much room they can free up. But I really don't see it happening

Guys, correct me if I am wrong but Albert clears up $9.8 right? Smith is due $7.5 this season but if they can work out a long term deal and make his first year heavy on the side of signing bonus that could clear some up.

But I feel all 4 guys due to earn over $10 mil this year (Bowe, Berry, Flowers, and Hali) are going to be under the microscope this offseason.

Based on what we are expecting the salary cap to be next year, we only have a few million in cap space WITHOUT Albert's contract.

They will be able to cut other guys to free up Cap room so they are going to have some cap room. The question will be if they use that to bring in free agents or lock some guys up and focus on the draft or in between. IMO the draft is going to be far more important then the free agent market for this team.

I can't totally agree with that. To me astute FA signings are just as important as drafting well. Horseface in Denver has done that. Getting Welker, for example took their offense over the hump and very hard to stop.

To me what Denver did with Welker is going to be what cost them in the end. There D wasn't good last year by the end of the year that's why they lost to the Ravens. Instead of addressing that they built on there offense. And lost on defense. There weakness is just as weak if not more then what it was a year ago. And I think that's whats going to be there downfall and I can't wait to see it

We'll have to wait and see and cheer that on. Brady might take them down too, three pegs lined up against them, solid NFC defenses and the Brady factor.
