Remember Marcus Cooper? Our rookie of the year who showed great potential last year? Well if I'm Dorsey, I'm watching the 49ers draft with great interest. The next Marcus Cooper (of any position) is sure to be among them. With all their wheeling and dealing I have lost track of how many draft choices they have. But it's a safe bet that it's around the 11 they started with.
Now here's the big picture: The 49ers are a contending team saturated with talent already. Ain't no way 11 +/- rookies will make their squad. They will try to sneak some into their practice squad at the end of the preasean. That's when I would pounce.
So, my friends, not all of our draft choices will come via our own picks. Stay tuned.
