We'll be tracking the Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/kansas-city-chiefs) 2015 NFL roster cuts as they come in on Saturday. The Chiefs need to go from 75 to 53 players by 3 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) today. The biggest cut so far is WR Fred Williams. He wasn't a lock by any means but since he led the team in receiving in the preseason folks thought he might make it.

Panthers should scoop up Williams. They are hurting for WR's. Only 3 players remain from 2013 draft class. Surprised that Seattle would give up a 5th rounder for McCray.

Definitely think the Chiefs got the better end of the deal for the McCray trade

Yeah especially catapano but he to injured prone i guess. And how did kush fall so far from grace? If hes that bad then good thing we got morse in the draft since w3 lowt hudson. But theres no way id pay what hudson wanted either. I wont be suprised if hudson steuggles this year.

No. I forgot all about mcgray. Dont know how we got a 5th for him. I was thinking someone like branch, sorienson or even parker cuz i think he is over valued. Hes the worst at tackling. But i was thinking branch or parker would have the most trade value. Wouldnt have thought mccray even had trade value or sorenson.

For Kush, it was lack of versatility, plus Fulton showed he could play Center just as well as Kush.

I think it was more mental with kush on calling the right calls at the line cuz you would think kush was futher along physically with couples years of offeason compared to a rookie.

A year later they traded McCray to the Seahawks for a 5th round pick.

So, the Chiefs essentially got a 5th round pick from Seattle for an UDFA player that they waived.

2 years ago, the Chiefs claimed Rishaw Johnson, an UDFA, on waivers from the Seahawks, who they then subsequently traded to the Bucs for Kelce McCray after a season with the team.
A year later they traded McCray to the Seahawks for a 5th round pick.

So, the Chiefs essentially got a 5th round pick from Seattle for an UDFA player that they waived.

Now if we can repeat that every yearour depth should improve every year.

I'm surprised that Marcus Cooper is still on the roster. Possible that the Sean Smith suspension may have something to do with that. If Smith hadn't been suspended, I suspect Fred Williams would have been kept and Cooper would have been let go.

Fred Williams is eligible for Practice Squad, so it wouldn't surprise me to see them do that with Williams then get rid of Cooper once Smith comes back

The only reason I can think they are keeping Cooper is for either special teams (he showed some good coverage skills before) or just in case we have injuries while Smith is suspended.
