This was Tampering by Philly. Doug Pederson came out two weeks ago declaring that he was a starting caliber QB. Everyone knew he would be visiting Philly after that.

Chase is really super lucky. I mean...he's cashed-in bigtime for a QB that hasn't played much. He did put up some great #'s @ Missouri. With all the players we lost or cut (Allen, Grubbs, Daniels & Smith) we should have a decent amount of cap space.

YUP! This is a pretty big contract for a guy that was a UDFA and has exactly 2 starts in 7 years in the NFL. That said, teams pay INSANE MONEY for QBs who have even the slightest bit of talent. I don't think he has much star potential, but in the right scheme with the right coach I think he can get a team to the playoffs. Long story short, he was too expensive for us to keep and he wanted at least a chance at being a starter. Good luck to him. If he wins the starter's job in Philly he will get us a nice compensatory pick in next year's draft. If he does well in Philly I think we'll get a 3rd round pick for him.

Chase will be the only one we get a comp pick for, smith and Schwartz will cancel each other out
