It's kind of the Chiefs traded for a shot to get something for him. The Cards took him to make sure they got him.

I would guess Cooper has to make the team next season for the Chiefs to get that pick. Low risk on both sides nothing lost for either if it doesn't work out

The trade of Streater surprised me. A LOT. He looked pretty good. I have to assume that Robinson and Hill impressed Reid and Dorsey enough to make Streater expendable. One thing though....Dorsey seems to be storing up draft picks like a squirrel does nuts in the fall. For the next few years we are going to have a lot of extra draft picks. And that is a good thing for our Chiefs long term. We're unlikely to find ourselves with an "old" team and falling off the cliff. Lots of youth is also good for the salary cap problem.

Also Roster Exemption for Eric Berry ends Next Saturday so someone will have to be cut then to make room for Berry

Guard Jordan Devey and LB Ramik Wilson waived, also same with the Berry exemption they have to cut someone when Houston comes back as well

Houston will be coming back so far into the season, someone is bound to be hurt and on IR

Thinking about it, I think sending Streater to the 9ers reflected confidence in our new young wide receivers combined with being a salary cap move. In short, Streater was on a 1 year "prove it" deal and the decision was made that with Robinson, Hill and the others a bit of extra cap space was more valuable than Streater. Not at all sure I agree with that but I'm not going to argue against it until we're far enough into the season to see how our WR corps does.

Special teams also plays apart in it. Think they like Conley and Wilson above Streater which puts him in the special teams group. Hill and Robinson played there a lot during the preseason which helped keep them over him

I am not sure why we kept DAT over Streator. He and Hill are the same type of player but I guess that is better than Hammond.
