The Kansas City Chiefs (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/kansas-city-chiefs) visited with free agent guard Andrew Tiller (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/155109/andrew-tiller)earlier this offseason but he left without a contract from the Chiefs. That changes today as the Chiefs announce they have signed Tiller to a contract.


This comes right after the Chiefs rookie minicamp when they had a bunch of tryout players in. No word on the details but I would imagine it’s the minimum or close to it. Tiller was a 2012 sixth round pick out of Syracuse. He’s spent time with the Saints (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/new-orleans-saints), Chargers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/los-angeles-chargers), Packers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/green-bay-packers) and 49ers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/san-francisco-49ers).
The Chiefs have some options at guard. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/245861/laurent-duvernay-tardif) is the one sure thing while Parker Ehinger (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/276957/parker-ehinger) and Zach Fulton (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/245863/zach-fulton) will be competing at the other spot. Tiller and others, like undrafted free agent Damien Mama, will be competing for a position.

Not like we couldn't use some help at guard especially for depth.

I like the signing, but I can't help wonder if it is because Ehringer isn't all the way back from his injury.

SF 49er at one time, right? Is he a FA, now?

Yes he was a 9er and remains unsigned he had a visit with the chiefs though

If they don't sign Hodges, then that tells us that are very high on their 5th round draftee, plus holdovers Wilson & Alexander, and wanting to squeeze one more year out of DJ.
