View Full Version : Pressure

I was kind of wondering if anyone had noticed a player on the Chiefs defense, not named Jared Allen, who has gotten any pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Alphonso Boone has been about the only other player that I have seen get some pressure. Tamba has split a couple of sacks with Jared. (All Jared if you were to ask me.) But we get an occaisional blitzer in there, and that's about it.

Basically, I am wondering if Hali is ever going to learn how to rush the passer.

Today was definitely Boone's day on D.

Or D held of the pack as long as they could. Packers are for real apparently. Boone did great. Jared did good too. It was a good team effort on defense.

I'm just saying that all season long, Tamba Hali has been failing to get any pressure on the qyarterback. He didn't get pressure last season either. Most of his sacks were on a quarterback who had left the pocket, or who held onto the ball forever.

I can't be alone on this.

Hali needs to learn from JA.

Where the hell was Napoleon Harris?

I don't want him to be out but where is Napoleon Harris?

I don't think I heard his name?

Is he injured?

Hali rarely gets a sack by himself.

He is getting more help from Jared (go figure that Jared is this dominant so early in his career) now that Jared is back.

Hali is getting better, but he could have much better stats is this freakin' scheme we are playing wasn't so conservative.

We have MAJOR talent that is being ignored, unused, whatever you want to call it.

This is classic "Give me five years and I can make a Championship team." coaching.

Hope that new guy HERM is able to do it.

I don't think Hali can cut it.He is a fair run-defending defensive end, but I don't see him beating his man when pass-rushing, and I didn't see it last year either. He can't get around the edge, even against right tackles.

Your serious, you defend Huard and attack Hali. Wow and with this Admin I will end my post respectfully.

Have a nice day.

Look, your unwavering biased against Damon Huard has made you blind to the subject.

As for Hali, yes, I think he is slacking. I'm amazed that this is coming as a shock to you.

I will say I havent heard Hali's name much, he may not be the stud that he could or maybe even should be. But come on you can see no wrong in Huard and then find fault (a 2nd year guy, 2nd year starter). I just find you world interesting, not one I would like to visit but interesting.

Thanks for the salt in the wound.

Maybe you have some fresh water to wash it out? Now our D line is slacking?

Crap we have no chance.

It is jsust an observation. And please, why do you feel the need to exaggerate my opinion of Huard here? I can find plenty of mistakes in Huards play. I even made a paragraph about the game-ending int he threw.

I have told you many times that the primary reason that I want Huard to continue starting is for Croyles sake. I am not going to say that Huard is playing well, because I don't want Croyle to play. I say it because I can see it. You see the numbers, and I see him overcoming elements that he is not in control of.

I did say that he is good against the run. Abd that not the entire line is bad. Just that Hali is falling short of expectations right now.

Our secondary is falling short of expectations. Our running game is falling short of expectations. Our passing game is falling short of expectations. Our entire offense is anemic.
We have much more to fix on the offensive side of the ball right now. That is where we need to be putting more focus.

Well, clearly the biggest problem is the offensive line. I have no problem with the secondary, aside from the fact that we have no youth, nor depth.

Having said that, just because the basement is flooded, doesn't mean that there is no point in finding out if there is a leak in the roof.

Hali's speed (or lack thereof) really hurts him. That's why he wasn't drafted sooner. It seems like every time a bootleg goes to his side, he is always stuck in limbo between the QB and the check-down target and all he can really do is try to stay in the passing lane for a deflection because he can't get to the QB in time.
