The Chiefs are losing a handful of members from their football operations staff. College scouting coordinator Dan Zegers, pro scout Jim Noel and area scout Matt Donahoe are all joining former Chiefs general manager John Dorsey in Cleveland, the Browns announced Wednesday.
All three originally joined the Chiefs’ staff under Dorsey, who was hired before the 2013 season and relieved of his duties last summer. The Chiefs were 43-21 in the regular season during his time in Kansas City.
In Cleveland, Zegers will retain the same title, personnel coordinator, while Donahoe will be a college scout and Noel will be the Browns’ assistant director of pro scouting.

So who will the Chiefs promote from within to replace. I mean that seems to be what they do.

I have a feeling things in management at Arrowhead haven't been fun the last year or two.

Just my opinion but I don't think we have enough people to "promote from within". Our entire coaching and management staff is being gutted like a fish.

I hope that isn't the problem. I suspect this is just the "good old boys network" doing what they do. In my experience when a manager gets fired and gets a new job he just plain naturally brings "his people" along with him. I think that is the case here.

Nobody should be surprised by any of this. You had to know that Dorsey was going to come after KC in some form. Won't be surprised if he goes after Alex Smith.

I hope he does! He's got loads of cap space and enough draft picks to choke a mule. And we are short of draft picks and have damned good QB with at least 2-3 years more tread left on his tires. Hey Dorse....can we talk?

We have a grand total of 4 picks in the 2018 NFL draft 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th round picks slim pickins unless we can unload some players, I would watch Smith, Parker and DJ as salary dump/trade candidates

And he's doing it with a smile on his face and a spring in his step...Look out, here comes Cleveland.

Smith I understand. I'd be surprised at DJ or Parker. But NOTHING would surprise me now.

Also Tamba might be gone and We could cut Allen Bailey and save 6 million in cap money

Y'know Dugstr....regardless if Dorsey is carrying a grudge or not, I think this turns out for the best. The entire staff is going to be "Reid People". So there will be no excuses. Reid got what he wanted so now it's time for him to put up or shut up. We will find out in a comparatively short period of time (3 years or so) if Reid still "has it" or if he is just Marty 2.0. I'm good with that.

I already assume Tamba is gone. You already know how much I love him from our attempt to get him to autograph my hat, but his days are over. Tamba alone (if my figures are right) is an $8 million cap saving next year. Put that together with trading Alex and we are looking at like $28 million in cap space. That ain't exactly chump change. With the right moves we could recoup a lot of what we gave to get Mahomes and fix our cap mess. I LIKE that scenario.
