I was going to do this in poll mode, but evidently I'm a moron and I don't know how. I know Miami won today, but what would you like to have seen more, Miami going winless for the season, or New England going unbeaten?

As of now, the Patriots and the Colts have nothing to gain, or lose, by winning, or losing, their final two games.

The Colts can not catch the Patriots, so they have clinched home-field-throughout the playoffs.

And the Colts can not be caught by anyone else in the AFC, so they have already clinched the no.2 seed in the AFC.

We will likely find out how badly Bellichick wants the undefeated record, next weekend.

I think they will go for the undefeated season. Bellichicken's ego is big enough and they have already got three Super Bowl rings and are pretty much as healthy as can be. Why not go for it??

Figure they'll be able to play Brady and company for about 1/2 a game and beat Miami, so that'll be some rest for the regulars...

I would like to see them play starters for the first half of each of the next two games. Win, or lose, that would be enough of an insult to the egos of the '72 Phins to possibly quiet down their enthusiasm in the long run, in my opinion.

I want to see somebody go undefeated to shut up those pomp *** 72 phins. Didn't want it to be the Pats though.

Now the 72 phins will still claim to be the best because they didn't "cheat". Shula has already brought up the asterisk for the Pats if they pull it off.

Yeah, he is an ***. But, if they sit their starters and lose their final game, then the 72 'Phins will not get the same anual coverage that they are getting right now. Even if the Pats win-out, the 'Phins may complain, but I don't think we will have to hear about their celebrations after a year or two.

Same here; I get sick of the news showing him crack open the champagne bottles after the last undefeated team goes down for the season.

On an unrelated note: I also can't stand Payton Manning.

That is all.

I would love for the Pats to bench starters at 15-0, and hear one final champagne bottle cork popping. If the Pats were to downplay the significance of being undefeated, then I think the whole issue could get bottled-up.

That is all.

Damn you and your overusage of the <ENTER> key. :D

What'd really piss me off is if the Pats went undefeated to the Super Bowl and then lost finishing 18-1. I still think that'd make them better than the "72 Dolphins, though I doubt they'd admit it.

Maybe the Dolphins should have an asterisk. They only played 14 games in a season back then.

Wikipedia said they went 13-0, but to make sure, you ought to ask chiefster. I believe he went to their last home game for his senior trip.

It's really not that much fun giving a hard time to a guy that's only ten years older than me.

They went undefeated in the regular season. But then lost to the Giants in post season play, whereas Miami won all post season games for a perfect season.
So I guess if New England goes 16-0, the Dolphins will still have a chance to hold onto their '72 feat since New England could still lose in the playoffs or Super Bowl.
