Why is he still clogging up the 53 man roster...
Kansas City Chiefs have placed right tackle Kyle Turley on injured reserve.
Turley, who has started five games this season, has missed the previous two contests with a back injury.
Known for his long hair, tattoos and a helmet-throwing incident in 2001, Turley had been out of the league for two years before signing with the Chiefs prior to last season.
Turley, 32, was a contributor last season, starting two games at left tackle and five at right tackle. He was part of a line that helped Larry Johnson rush for 1,789 yards and 17 touchdowns.
A nine-year veteran, Turley was selected seventh overall by the New Orleans Saints in 1998.
In a corresponding move, the Chiefs claimed tackle Adrian Jones off waivers from the New York Jets. The 6ft 5in Jones, who is in his fourth season, played in seven games for the Jets this campaign
